I'm not sure that Sony is doomed but it might take somewhat of a miracle to bring the PS3 out of third in the console race. It is constantly losing ground. Fanboy comments aside, Sony needs to rethink its pricing and marketing strategies. We shouldn't have just been seeing Killzone 2 commercials this week, Sony needs to get the Playstation 3 name out there more. Nothing is impossible, but Sony needs to...I don't know...TRY!!! They have a good piece of hardware, they don't know what they want it to be though.
While I found it enjoyable I also thought the controls hindered the gameplay. This comes from my gripes with the PS3's controller more than from the button layout provided by Guerilla (which you are able to change). Graphics are pretty, but overall it is nothing more than a competent shooter. I am not slighting the game in anyway, I had fun with it. However once the graphics are no longer the best thing seen on consoles I think the game will fade in players' memories. That is unless the multiplayer is specatacular which it very well could be. I realize now that I'm making too many assumptions based off a 5 minute demo, but I think this game might not be as good as the hype for me at least. I'm definitely buying it though because I think it will still be an enjoyable experience.
On an older 1up podcast the guys said they'd be surprised if MGS4 didn't come to the 360 this year due to lower than expected sales. I have it for my PS3 but the thought of running through that fantastic game again on my 360 and gathering up achievements is tantalizing. That being said I still think it is a long shot and that you should not count on it, but you can always run through MGS2 on Xbox. Great series, one of my favorites. I hope everyone gets to run through MGS4 someday.
Blood Drive for sure. I really enjoy the map, and even though I enjoy Ruins and Jacinto just as much I think that Blood Drive is the most popular amongst the people I play with.
Yeah, it is a little broken. It can be and hopefully will be improved. However, despite the fact it can be frustrating, I think it remains addictive and enjoy playing it with my friends.
As nice as it would be for everyone to experience Mass Effect as possible I'm not sure people should be getting so excited about it coming to the PS3. It'd be great for PS3 only owners but multiplatform might not mean PS3. I wish EA would be more blunt about which systems the sequel will be coming to. And I hope that if it is coming to multiple systems one version doesn't lag behind in quality.
