I'm a real beginner in fps multiplayer in general, but i think I'm doing okay now. Usually am playing Assault or Medic, need to learn how to use rocket launchers and sniper rifles better to play as either engineer or recon... hope I can learn from you guys.
In the final mission I actually had this 'what, thats it?' feeling (probably because my first playthrough was on normal...) and then the credits rolled, but like most people here the final 'survive' sequence was pretty awesome.
Actually playing through an ending is better than watching it I guess huh?
Of course, cant forget how they input the very beginning of Halo CE into the ending... I actually started a new game of Halo CE soon after haha
Nice to see someone else from Vancouver around here!
My gamertag is the same as my username; I don't play as often as I'd like to, but you can add me if you'd like.
I'm not too great of a player, but not too bad at the same time. Reach is kind of my first serious attempt at halo multiplayer so I hope to do a bit better.
I used to listen to them quite a bit a while back, but not so much anymore. I think Hybrid Theory was one of the first western CD's I've bought (I'm into j-rock a bit... actually I'm into rock in general).
I like all their albums so far, true the last one was a bit less rock, but I like the fact that they arent afraid to experiment.
By myself, What I've Done and My December are probably some tracks that I remember the best.
For the record my favorite FF will always be FF VI (the first FF I played).
Out of VII and VIII, I think I'd have to go with VIII. Even though the Draw system was a bit tedious, I seem to recall only a few spells that were really difficult to obtain. Plus there were more ways to attain spells than the draw system I believe. The junction system was great, it let you create any sort of character (or job) you wanted, front line, hybrid or mage. I found myself not using the magic too much however, which is one respect which VII was a bit better. It would have been great if say: if 100 magic of something was obtained, you had an option of locking it at 100 for the sole purpose of having it junctioned on your character, allowing you to assimilate more of the same spell for combat use only. I think this way your mage-type characters (Rinoa?) would have been more powerful (ie. not just in summoning GF's but actually making strategic use of magic). Oh well, I used magic quite a bit anyway, and I suppose it was easy just to get it back using draw etc.
How nostalgic... I haven't talked about ffviii in a long time.
Actually I stepped into BC1's multiplayer system for the first time yesterday and I never knew fps multiplayer could be so fun! (With the only fps multiplayer experience that I have was halo 3 and maybe 5 minutes of MW2)
When I played BC2's multiplayer I was surprised, it's a great game. Again, this is coming from someone with verrry little multiplayer experience on any fps game (ie. total newbie) so I was dying a whole lot at first... but I started to improve just slightly and was able to get a few kills in too. I like the objective based games better than say a deathmatch mdoe, I almost always found myself trying to get to the objectives with some sort of tactic which felt familiar (since I'm an rpg/fighting kinda gamer).
JRPG for sure. From the WRPG's that I've played, I've only enjoyed a few, the rest have been too frusterating or unmotivating to play.
I admit, I am too growing out of the jrpg storytelling, but I'm amazed at the amount of ways some developers tell that story to make it seem fresh. On other notes, action JRPG's like Drakengard 1 and 2 had slightly more mature and weird stories that took strange turns. Today, JRPG's have the mechanisms to weave a good story, but I suppose the main audience they tend to cater to are a bit younger than most who demand a more mature story now'days.
Although both have their ups and downs, I'm sure that both schools of rpg development could learn from eachother.
I'm definately looking forward to it since I think Level-5 games are really well done (DQVIII was very memorable).
I dont have any problems with a graphic standpoint, but the battle system reminds me of FFXII a slight bit, I guess it's a bit slow paced in terms of battle, but that's my opinion after having seen only the opening battles of the game; I'm not sure what it looks like as you progress. I'm not sure how I feel about the actual knight concept, I guess its similar to xenogears in that respect, where you could jump into your gear at certain points of the battle.
Although, I'll rent it first to see how it goes... since I'm currently saving up for another rpg and an action/stealth game, both releasing within a month and a week's time...
I think that most of these parents are missing the point of being an actual parent, controlling what comes into their house and what doesn't. GTA is rated M for mature... I wouldn't exactly give that to a 14 year old kid. I'm not a parent at all yet, but I have younger sisters and cousins who i've made movie or game choices for... it really isn't that hard. There just has to be an understanding and I think most people are capable of it... to one degree or another.
If newton had been playing a DS back in his day and missed the apple, someone else would have already figured out the theory of gravitation at that time thus allowing our world today to be way more 'hi-tech' than it already is. Maybe, in that sense, this lady would have a much nicer tv to watch that 'cool tv mom' on.
