I don't know whether I should be laughing or feel totally creeped out...

Unless there's some sort of spoiler box, I'd say hold back on important plot developments. Basic plot description is cool, but having almost every important event in a game's plot there is kinda annoying if you haven't played something yet.

I tend to agree. The internet has grown exponantionaly since, and it shows no signs of slowing down as of yet. I mean, we are already running out of IP addresses, and look at the amount of combinations one can create with them!

My concern, however, isn't really about the internet collapsing on itself, but rather what will happen afterwards. I don't think the internet will ever dissapear since it has become too viable a way of communicating for people, but once it implodes, I'm afraid that it will either be the goverments or the monster-size companies that will pick up the pieces and rebuild it. And I dread to think what kind of restrictions and regulations they will impose upon the world wide web once this happens. Should that happen, I think we can say goodbye to the days of freely expressing ourselves using blogs, personal websites or youtube-like sites. Most likely the only way to make your precense known on the internet in those days will be by adhering the strict rules and digging deep into your pockets for money.

But on the other hand, the collapse of the world wide web can also possibly lead to a more positive outcome. Namely that it will go back to being a true open-source platform as it was intended to be. Of course this, too, can lead to it becoming a niche thing. As much as I would prefer this situation over the previous one, I think it will still alienate alot of people from the net due to the oftentimes complex nature that open-source brings with itself. Like the saying goes, "you get what you pay for" and I doubt that if the whole net went open-source should be expecting any real priority proffesional support one receives when they're paying for something (usually).

I think gay people have the same rights as everyone else, but bitching and moaning about every little thing like this certainly isn't going to win the gay community any votes.

That's pretty funny, but it's probably fake. Good stuff though.

Batman should never have gotten sidekick to begin with, not even in the comics, and especially not one like Robin. He's seriously one of the lamest sidekicks ever. As Nightwing he might be cool, but when he was Batman's sidekick, he was just.. sad.

I really doubt that the avatars are going to make the GPU heat up enough for the console to red ring.

I miss them, too; but I also kind of like them being gone because it teaches me to stop using them with almost every sentence I write. I have to actually get creative to get my point accross now! How awesome yet horrific is that?

"Spoilers suck, but why are you even looking at a thread related to the movie or game you want to avoid. "
So I know kind of what to expect. If almost everyone in a thread is saying that a movie or game sucks, then I can set my expectations based on that. Call me crazy, but I like reading what people think about a movie they just saw or a game they just played. And it really isn't that hard for someone to say what they thought of something without posting spoilers.
"
And they are discussing what they  think of the movie including it's plot. A discussion made up of "THIS MOVIE AWEWAOME"  or  " I AGREE IT WAS FANTABULOUS" or " NO IT SUX U SUX". Isn't much of a discussion is it?
"
I completely agree, it's not much of a discussion. But most of those threads aren't created for people to go into deep discussions about plots and whatnot. The majority of those threads are there simply for someone to say they either loved or hated the movie. That is usually as far as the discussion will go. And to have someone go "I can't believe xxxx died!" in such a thread really makes no sense to me. It doesnt add anything to the ongoing thread, all it does is spoil things for people who are reading the thread. Like I said, I just go to those kind of threads to see what the general concessus is for a given movie/game. If 8 out of 10 replies to it are saying that a particular movie sucks, then I know where to set my expectations if I do decide to go see it.

And I think it is more than viable for people to have a profound discussion on a story without actually spoiling anything. A good example of this are some of the MGS threads, where I see people providing strong arguments as to why they think the MGS storyline is one of the best they've ever seen in a game. And vice versa as well, I've seen alot of people who were able to explain just what it is they don't like about the stories of the MGS series, without spoiling anything.

But yea, I guess I should expect it by now that there are going to be people who will post spoilers. So perhaps I should just avoid topics like that from now on if I haven't seen the movie or played the game yet.
