Stupid title. Would honestly have to see more proper gameplay to tell if it'd work or not, but I'm not really impressed so far.

agreed, having had some experience with the Kinect, to question its ability to be applied like this and work as shown in the trailer. All I know is that this makes me not want an Xbox rather than get one.

I've played boxing on the connect (Kinect Sports) and if there's anything to note about it is that 75% of the time the attacks and movement were not being recognized.

There's nothing I hate more than on rail games, the replayability is extremely limited and offers no chance of creativity and how you play the game, something most of the kinect games share.

all the bitching on this thread is lame there are still a bunch of great 3rd party games coming out for the xbox this year microsoft did good enough to me they backed their new product i don't even have a kinect or xbox and i was sold
the key term is 3rd party, which means Publishers outside of Microsoft, which the way things are nowadays if it's not published by the first party company (SCEI, Microsoft Game Studios). there's a big chance that the game is available on more than one platform, and there little to no differences between versions of the games. Where it's all about preference rather than exclusivity of features or content.  There was nothing groundbreaking or worthwhile showcased, including Kinect, which in my opinion offers very little in terms of innovation and immersion. While it is impressive technology, the Kinect in its current state, is very restrained. Not only is the motion detection delayed, but I see very little opportunity for application in any games outside of rail shooters (see latest Harry Potter game) and shallow mini games.

I was really looking forward to seeing any Kinect-based game that could show off its potential that hasn't been implemented so far, and all I saw was more sports and mini games, now with more voice-recognition which really isn't that much impressive. there were numerous games on the PS2 that featured voice commands including one which all control was done via voice commands (Lifeline)

( as a side note I should point out that I dictated this entire message via Dragons NaturallySpeaking program, which was first released in 1997 and pretty much has little to no errors when it comes to recognizing vocal commands. exhausted that the technology is so mainstream that Windows Vista and 7 come with built-in voice-recognition support.)

I'd be hesitant to say that it would have been a flop had it been a PS3 exclusive - I'm sure there's a fair number of people, several friends I have included, that opted for the 360 version because PSN was down even though they owned both consoles. I think that if it had been a PS3 exclusive you would've seen sales numbers that were a bit higher, but still nowhere near as high as multiplat. That being said, I love when third-party titles are multiplatform. I can understand first party exclusivity, but if a studio has an engine that can run across both platforms and the capability of porting it properly (in this case Rockstar handled porting the game from PS3 to 360) then there's no reason for them not to.  Poor Alan Wake. If only you had come out on PC and PS3 as well. Would have seriously helped the sales numbers. And not on the same date as RDR.
I was instantly sold on Alan Wake, with the only thing keeping me from buying the game was the fact I do not own a Xbox 360, nor intend on purchasing one but I do have interest in the game.

I got one 1 star case. I really don't think damage or hurting civilians does all that much to impact the case rating. I did a ton of damage on one case and hit a dozen pedestrians and still got 4 stars. I think its more to do with not finding clues and the questions.
try racking up 47,000 in damages and solve the case with all clues questions and clues and correct suspect convicted and see what your rating is ;)

I imagine that I will be finishing the game twice - my first run will be my run, and then the second will be guided.
I share a similar strategy

opinions are just that, opinions.

It is my opinion, that there are opinions and then there are facts.  opinions can be right or wrong depending on the viewpoint of the observer while facts are right in everyone's view.

If the games single player sucks, I won't want it. That's the whole reason I want to play it, to see how the single player turns out. I couldn't care less about its multiplayer.
Not caring about the multiplayer for a battlefield game makes me wonder how you got interested in the franchise at all. Not hating just wondering.
For anyone to say that they like the Battlefield games for their single player campaigns, is clearly not a fan from the PC side of the series.Because in those games multiplayer was the single player, in which playing off-line or "single player" was just being in a game with a bunch of bots.  Battlefield had no single player stories or campaigns before the Bad Company series came around.

Many of my Steam games do this. Every time Shogun 2 patches, I have to download the entire 16GB game
Have mercy on your monthly cap (if you have one)

What's your service speed, and how long does it usually take?

They practically swore it would be up by May 31st, and it's still not up. I am severely disappointed with them.
Yup at this point ANYTHING that comes from Sony via any medium I'm taking with a grain of salt and so should others.   there is no reason why they won't be able to make the deadline they set out last month. They've had over a month to get their networks locked down and secure. With as big of a system that Sony has to manage it has or should have the resources necessary of bringing the network fully back online today.

This whole debacle was the started by  Sony with going after a small minority of intelligent, resourceful group of people (tech enthusiast, hack hobbiests) who were looking to just get the most of their major purchase.

Why all sony consumers should
Sony put most of its resources and efforts into going after those who were doing nothing illegal as defined by current laws with jail breaking or softmoding a personal electronic device. Painting a big target on not only the company, but the customers (data and personal information) of the company , the carelessness shown over the past couple months by Sony has revealed the greed and carelessness of corporate responsibility to its users of the once respectable electronics giant.
