I knew something was weird as soon as Jeff said "CBS family of websites!" with a positive tone. Everything I've come to know about that guy in the last three and a half years says he hates the phrase 'family of websites'. It's like he was replaced by his corporate doppelgänger Geoff Gertzman.
I felt the same way. As a GiantBomb fan I don't really understand why 'CBS family' should appeal to me.
Out of curiosity what were the reasons for having HTML5 video on the video pages as a members only feature? Is Whiskey Media able to send higher quality video down the line?
Hi guys, sorry to bump a week old topic but I figured it's best than start a new one.
I didn't mind the old ads in the past because they weren't very intrusive. The new ones I see on the database entries are a lot more distracting considering they start animating at the same time without any sort of interaction on my part.
They're also asking me to get gorgeous underarms and explaining the benefits of massaging a baby. My underarms are already gorgeous and I don't have a baby to massage. I would much prefer ads for cheap energy drinks or cheaper games.
I am a non-subscriber and understand the need for ads on such a popular website. If it were possible though, as a user I would much prefer static and more ads related to the GiantBomb content. Still love the site however :)
