" @MrKlorox said:I remember back in the day playing an Atari 2600 and realizing that for every Pitfall there were at least ten cheap cash-ins like the A-Team, ET, or Pac Man. I'm sure if you look at every platform ever released you can find at least 4 bad games for everyone that is decent." I have no imagination and can't conceive of how any of these things could possibly make gaming better at all. "Well, I can't really see how 3D is making anything better. Motion controls are ok sometimes, games like Dance Central might be making gaming better, but for every Dance Central there's 3 or 4 games like Adrenalin Misfits. "
As someone who has owned a 3d Monitor for almost two years now, I can say that 3d doesn't work for everything; bloom lighting highlights crosstalk on shitty screens, developers can't use a 2d image for HUD design, the pace should be slowed down a bit (this shouldn't be a problem on consoles because they have to slow down the pace to accommodate for using a controller). This is mostly due to it being a rather new experience for developers to work with. A good example of what I am talking about is polygonal games. I'm sure anyone who grew up on 8 and 16-bit systems remembers how horrible early polygonal titles were, especially when it came to camera perspective / control.
