I don't see why people will have a problem, they added two days to the early game to compensate for the fact that you will be told the same day the acces begin, so even if you cannot play that day but the day after, you still get to play the same amount of time than if they would have tell you in advance.
As for the grace period, what they mean is that if you are part of the early access, on December 20th (at the latest) you need to enter and activate a retail code or you wont have access to the game until you do. It has nothing to do with the 30 days you get for a new game. And I would be surprised if there are retailers that accept returns on MMOs considering that they would have no way to know if the person already activated the retail code.
All those involved should be fired as well because they didn't make Guild Wars 2. I think it's important for people to suffer when they don't agree with me.
Don't go soft on me, they should be forced to perform seppuku. In fact we should expand on the highlander idea and force all employees of different mmo to battle each other until only one game is left. The increase productivity due to no more thread wars about which mmo (that has not been released yet) is better, will be enough to end the current global recession.
It is hard to say with so little information, technically either Manplus by Frederik Pohl or The Golden Fleece by Robert J. Sawyer kind of fit that description. What else can you remember about the second plot, what kind of universe was set up? high tech, near future, earth vs alien world etc.
