My Favorite Games of All Time

This is a best of list for right now. I tried to limit myself to 10 originally, but there were just too many unmentioned to I bumped it up to 20. Of course, like life, this list is a work-in-progress. [Newly Updated: Ha-ha, I look like such a Bioware fanboy.] [Second Update: I switched some of the order around. Sept.-24, 2014] [Third Update: Switched some and added a couple more. Nov. 1,2015] [Fourth Update: Did some tinkering again and added a few][Fifth Update: same as the fourth, new games added, some positions changes]

1. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

This was my previous number one game. It had occupied this spot since 2004. EDIT: Switched back to #1 spot after I replayed it recently
2. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Spectacular and expansive. Exploration is the name of the game here. I love the inclusion of companions this time around. Everything feels better than its predecessor.
3. Diablo III

A gaming obsession for a while...by "a while" I mean since it came out to current day.
4. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES

This game enthralled me for hours upon hours. It touched me more emotionally than any other game.
5. Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride

This little DS title reignited my love of JRPGs.
6. Dragon Age: Origins

This has moved to my number one spot in a relatively short period of time. EDIT: Dropped to the #6 spot recently.
7. Mass Effect 2

A spectacular space adventure full of unique settings, engaging characters, and high action. Simply one of the most fun games ever. This is what we dreamed gaming would be like in the future when I was in short pants.
8. The Sims 4

It's a dollhouse and similar to Skyrim, a perfectly-modded Sims 4 is a thing of joy.
9. Borderlands 2

I liked the Siren from BL1 more, but this sequel had greater overall polish.
10. System Shock 2

One of the most scary games I've ever played.
11. Half-Life

Amazing through out. Really made an impression on me.
12. Genshin Impact

Just the game I always wanted. A single-player game with all the tropes of a "games as service" multiplayer experience.
13. Centipede

Arcade action at its finest. It had a track ball!
14. Unreal Tournament

One of the best multiplayer games of its time. Worked even through my 56k modem.
15. Fallout 3

Awesome game with lots to explore.
16. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

A fantastic Indiana Jones like adventure with charisma to spare. The sequel is better as far as a lot of things go, but this was my introduction to the characters and renewed my faith in these high action-adventure games.
17. Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

Good story, great characters, fun game play, and I teared up at one point! The only other game to do that was P3.
18. Marvel Puzzle Quest

I got hooked on it 7 years after it was originally released!
19. Tom Clancy's The Division 2

I played a lot of this game. I mean a lot. All solo, too so there had to be something which kept pulling me back.
20. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Replayability is what earns this games place on my list.
21. Dark Cloud 2

A unique action-RPG with friendly graphics and engaging game play. Simply charming.
22. NBA Showdown

My most obsessive sports game ever. I'd watch the game then replay it on the Genesis. Every week for 72 games.
23. Persona 5

I liked it a whole lot but I didn't connect as much to the secondary characters as I did with P3.
24. Persona 4

Not as epic as P3, but very enjoyable with a cast that is more likable than its predecessor.
25. Beyond Good & Evil

A truly different heroine in a fantastically diverse world.
26. Burnout 3: Takedown

Two words: Crash Mode. Puzzle elements in a racing game? Genius!
27. Halo: Reach

Simply put, the best single-player first-person shooter I've played.
28. Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2

Absurd RTS that kept my attention without disappointment. But, damn, I hate the "tank rush".
29. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield

When Xbox Live was young, this was how I spent many many nights.
30. Pokémon Sun/Moon

The refinements made to the latest version of the long running series completely won me over. I am addicted to this adventure.
31. Diablo II

Click action RPG that refined the genre and set the standard.
32. Trinity

An old-school Infocom text adventure that puzzled and captivated me for months.
33. Call of Duty 2

Another where I spent a lot of time in multiplayer.
34. Megamania

My favorite game growing up. A classic Activision game for the 2600.
35. World of Warcraft

Two years of my life, so there had to be something to it.
36. Marvel Heroes Omega

A great mix of characters with a traditional action-rpg game play kept me coming back.
