@ntm: lol thats exactly how I feel about the whole series. AA was fantastic, AC was just meh and AO was not as polished as AC but was more enjoyable than AC.

Go figure eh?

I think this all changed when games stopped having cheat codes.

Man that really has slipped under the radar hasn't it.

Lullabies to Paralyze is where the band began experimenting in some really fantastic ways. Someone's in the Wolf is legit one of their greatest songs.

Absolutely yes. That song is so heavy. I also agree with you on Era Vulgaris sounding robotic. It's almost like Qotsa lost their groove for that one. I didn't like the guitar tone on there either.

Great story, great music and a fantasy setting.

What I don't like...well I wrote it out but then deleted it since this isn't what its about. But there's certainly more about the modern era jrpg that I don't like.

Yes. I don't know I just like reading. Quick Looks are ok but sometimes I'd prefer a read.

Rocket Knight Adventures was freakin awesome back in the day. Probably one of the first games that mixed up the genres within the same level. Going from shooter to platformer for example.

Snatcher was pretty cool. Suikoden was an epic and I have yet to play Suikoden 2 (kinda saving it...). Metal Gear Solid is a game I have a weird history with. I must've started it about 3-4 times and always something gets in the way of me finishing it. I usually get to the point where you must go to some warehouse after meeting Sniper and one of the other baddies after her.

I really hope they can stay in the game though. With or without Kojima.

Then you have just the fact that multiplayer requires ... unable to get up and walk around, answer phone calls or get up and grab a drink.

That would be my biggest gripe with it.

But mostly I avoid multiplayer. The only MP I play without people I know in the real world is COD3 and its purely because the matchmaking is non-existant. You basically just look at what games are being played and pick one. That's how it should be. The other reason is because it has zero customisation. It gives you 6 classes with one weapon each (and a pistol). No mucking around in menus picking guns.

My other gripe with MP and again this is only for shooters are the dudes that spend the whole round waiting on the edge of a doorway killing dudes who walk through it. There's camping but then there's being the biggest loser doing that.

Did you ever play Shadow Complex? As far as Metroidvania's are concerned its one of the best and very hard to get lost in (i.e not have the power up to proceed).

And I agree the bosses in Axiom Verge look stunning!

I get why Songs for the Deaf and Rated R are the usual culprits, but they're just not as creative or as cohesive in their vision as Era is.

Eh!?

I love Qotsa but feel that after Lullabyze they've gone downhill. Is it a coincidence that they stopped doing/releasing the Desert Sessions just before that album? I don't know but one thing is for sure, that band was better with more than one singer. Mark Lanegan's grizzly vocal complimented Homme's tenor vocals and falsetto. And the band was better with Nick Oliveri, his bass sound and his screaming vocals were sublime.

Well I want Pacquiao to win, though he is going up against the undefeated dude... the odds are stacked against him. I keep hearing that Mayweather was only doing easyfights, which could be true but somehow that seems irrelevant in the face of such a winning streak.

Yeah he has that reputation as being "protected" (like Anthony Mundine) but he has had some tough fights. At least he beat Juan Manuel Marquez who has knocked out Pacquiao.

I want Pacquiao to win. He's modest and does a lot of charity work for his people. Mayweather's put on some bulk for this fight so it'll be interesting to see how it goes. Mayweather acts like a punk sometimes.
