motioninjoy is great for ps3 controller with pc, I don't hate the xbox controller but I do prefer the ps3 and actually have one.

as for this topic, I'm just shy of 6mb on ps3 and suffering slow down at places already, with me just starting dark brotherhood and thief guild and not that far into the main quest. It's worst in places I've been a lot, the downside of radiant is it is horrible when I pop in my home in whiterun for the first minute and soso after that.

I think I do help a bit in that I try to stick to a area. do all the quests for a town then move on, so not a lot going back besides for whiterun.

@Vestigial_Man you have me curious, I have a launch 20 at home but right now am playing on my parents slim and was when I hit the size mark. Dad has a pc version of skyrim but not the pc to play it, so I've been reluctantly debating us swapping. but maybe I need to check on my ps3 first, as I really don't want to lose my character.

I really shouldn't have been lazy about nominating fortune street, but oh well... Watching everything again before I vote, but right now I think Jar time is going to win. as awesome as random pc game is, the insight Jar time offers makes it once of my fav segments and that one was amazing.

I'm Khajiit on my current playthtough, so how much a racist jerk Ulfric is made me decide to join the Imperials so I could kill Ulfric. Yes the empire has issues and as Talos blessings work my character considered that all the prof she needed.

But handing Skyrim over to Ulfric would doom it just as much, as he is using the cause to gain power. If there was an option to deal with him and get someone else in charge? That would have been pretty tempting.

As is my first brush with Ulfric had him talking about attacking Whiterun if they didn't side with him. It was a swift final nail in the coffin

@The_Hiro_Abides: Thank you! "  So you like Castlevania do you?" helped me with my last one.

.....Mind I am now asking why this game of the series was picked. It's not that weird, vs the one after it or the latest in the series.

Lots of weird changes overall. Cargo and Undergarden would have been on my list, and Bayonetta of course. good chunk of these games were just not that weird/unique I think.

Psss@MaxOpower: A certain Dark Knight does count, you must have missed him popping, Though I agree Nelson not working is weird with GB being where I learned about the game...

It'll get archived, they archive everything. However it will take a while as longer videos means more time to encode and upload.

All LPs are walkthroughs, but some are also guides.

Informative, Humorous, and Narrative I think are the best three catchall catagories for LPs, in that most can fall into at least one of them. Informative should show you something, like Chip's stuff, but they are also Humorous in that it's meant to be funny too. The GiantBomb ERs have been straight Humorous for the most part. Then you have The Terrible Secret of Animal Crossing or My Life is a Goddamn Mess (Persona 3) which are Narrative, telling a story using the game. The GB ERs do get a little Narrative at times, with the way they build the characters, not even just as jokes. Charlie is not Yu is not Souji.

This thread is also great for reminding me to check that Uncharted 2 walkthrough~ Updates are so random I just check back when I think of it, which is every few months.

@Video_Game_King: If you've wartched the anime, you know this character. Think ones with close ties to Yu and you'll get it before long.

For myself a certain man behind the signal was the last to pop for me. Didn't think of him, which surprises me with how much I love the character.

I wasn't that surprised that Kyle Hide and Phoenix Wright didn't work, even if they would have been on my list, but York not being there is a travesty. :( I DID expect him.

I think it really depends on your commentary style and the game for which works best. I watch LPers who do both, and a lot of it comes down to how good you are about keeping the commentary going and also how much of the game you're showing. I can think of a few LPs which edited out boring backtracking and side stuff - Note *boring* backtracking, backtracking can be fun. I would think most backtracking in Pokemon you would want to leave so the viewer can enjoy getting lost for example with you :)  - or things like level grinding. This editing out I've seen with both live commentary and after the fact, and can make sense for games like Arkham City when doing side quests.

Doing things live means as others said, you have a lot more reacting in the moment to things which can be fun with LPs. As this is your first playthrough that would be one of the things people would be looking for.

On the other hand after the fact allows for multiple takes, more planning, and can be much smoother overall. In theory you can have less dead spaces and uhs, because you'll look over what you did and retake if you didn't do well. This is also good because your focus is less split, as talking and playing can be very hard!

My favorite LPers have a bit of a mix of the two, Chip Cheezum and General Ironicus do their videos with Chip playing the game and editing together the video, and then Ironicus watching for the first time during the recording they are doing their commentary. This allows more reactions from Ironicus' part, and more focus from Cheezum as he's not playing at the same time. This style benefits them as they do 100% for most of their LPs, and showing off easter eggs in general, so for example during their MS3 LP there was points where Cheezum would play a map three times, to show off different play styles.

But as it is just you playing, and your first playthrough, I would say maybe side towards live and add some post if you need to?  Doing a mix of the styles while favoring live is not a bad thing. But I would also say try doing a test of both to see how well you do with on the spot talking, Have a few people watch it, and give their opinion.
