Damn, I love a lot of "average" games, but it's hard to think of one universally hated.

Oh yeah, I guess Dirge of Cerberus was widely hated, while I loved it. It was surprisingly robust, and gunplay was polished as hell. Tri barrel customization was fun to play with etc.

I should probably hook up my PS2 to play that.

Was about to shop around for an XL after skimming through this thread. Then I found a Zelda Edition OG 3DS for roughly 90 euros, new, with warranty. So I got that ^^ The cheapest XL's I could find were around 300 euros, so no contest there.

Would double dip for an XL though, if they make a Zelda Edition down the line.

Doesn't matter. I can play with the face buttons if required. I'm not a tender snowflake who must be conditioned just the right way to play a game comfortably.

None. I don't trust either of them. Had ALL the consoles last gen, and I was not impressed with their services. PS4 so far at least doesn't seem like it totally hates the customer, but yeah not betting on that lasting.

XB1 is just a big test to see how many peeps would buy the latest box that actively works against their basic consumer rights. Will be interesting to see how many people buy it just because Microsoft yelled loudly enough how valuable and essential it is for human beings.

You'd have to be a HUGE commodity fetishist to buy these day 1. Like on "probably need to see a professional" levels.

As a non-US resident, this was laughably irrelevant for me.

Finally defeated Magusar, 2 times in succesion, and watched both of the endings. I read that there's a 3rd ending if you defeat him before finishing the story, but don't know how it is.

Anyway, all in all I found him suprisingly compelling. Yeah, an immortal evil wizard is not the most original concept, but the very nature of magic in this setting gives his immortality a disturbing quality.

His most interesting, and obvious, aspect was his right side, completely covered in misshapen eyes. All the druids have mutated right arms that more or less mirror their life views and choices. But Magusar's mutation is just so far beyond any of them, and so brutal, that I can't help thinking each of them signify a "loop" he's been through. Both of the endings I've seen showed that these events reoccur time and again, as long as the immortal essence of Magusar lingers in some form. It can obviously signify his power level etc, but the game's riddled with symbolism and considering the everlasting, repeating nature of both the setting and Magusar, this made sense to me more. In each loop he leaves his vessels beyond, and once again exists as the "true" Magusar inside his captor, fully aware of what has transpired again.

Anyway, what say ye?

Well in Demon Souls, your character doesn't swing the weapons like an elementary school teacher with a severe case of asthma.

It also has a semblance of lore. Other than that, couldn't care less which one.

Ahaha, that came across nicely then =) Really, the last time a JRPG gripped me so wholly was FF8, and that was because I was fucking 12 at the time.

Damn it's been 20 days, I still feel this utter rush when I put on the OST. Damn good stuff. Ordered the series blu-rays after "sampling" a bit. Dat Chie's Castle run, dat 1st Izanagi summon! Damn good use of OST I'd say.

Oh I began watching the Endurance Run as well. It'll take me a while to watch them all but up to Ep 7, Vinnie - Jeff don't disappoint. It's like the perfect game for that pair to run through. I hope they end up getting the true ending.
