@LordXavierBritish: @Animasta: This topic is not about the infrastructure damage and loss of life in Thailand. Although that is a terrible thing and I wish the best outcome for them, I only mentioned the flooding to provide background to the increased prices.
Why do people become instantly defensive and assume the worst about others because they simply didn't mention something? If you would like to create a topic about these issues and link to a donation site, be my guest, it would be more constructive than derailing this thread.
Hey guys, so there's that time again where my HDD is getting quite full so I thought I would check out my options for an additional one.
To my surprise the HDD prices have gone through the roof. The Seagate Barracuda ST500DM002 for instance was at one point around $40 but now retails between $110 and $150.
Apparently this is due to major shortages caused by flooding in the world's largest HDD manufacturing country, Thailand. While $110 is not that much in the grand scheme of things it still hurts to pay over double for the same product I could have bought a couple months ago. The prices and supply are projected to return to normal in about 6 months time.
@mnzy: In the end we're all just a bunch of drones for the hivemind.
@Cloudenvy: When the cars and buildings explode in that game it reminds me that the greater social conciousness is exploding in a fireball of disenfranchisement, as exemplified by the Occupy Wallstreet protests.
Honestly, Brad's the only staff member I would really trust to review Skyrim in a way that fans of those games would appreciate. No offense to the other guys, but seriously.
Brad seems to have shown pretty clearly through his review scores that if a game isn't an artsy pretentious downloadable, it's not going to get five stars. Jeff and Ryan are two people I really trust, though.
God I can't wait to download that artsy, pretentious... Uncharted 3
Ya, artsy, pretentious Starcraft 2 was my favourite indie game last year.
You know what unit really sucks, pounds-mass. It's just slugs multiplied by the gravitational constant, but not actually the units of gravity just the magnitude so the mass is the same number as the force. Except it's useless for all equations anyway because you have to convert back to slugs if you want to do anything useful.
So if you're using this retarded unit Newton's second law is no longer F=m*a but F=(m/32.2)*a. When a unit is so shitty that yo have to add a constant to a fundamental law, that unit SUCKS.
Oh ya, thanks America for forcing me to learn that shit. Assholes.
