edit: should I just get Crysis or both Crysis and Warhead? "
Honestly I think you could skip Crysis and go straight to Warhead. Warhead seems like a Director's Cut of Crysis more than a true sequel anyway. It's also better optimized.

" Nah. Glitches aside, I found the endgame really underwhelming after realizing its basically the exact same mission no matter who you align with. Take the bugs out and its a solid game, sure. Best game Obsidian's made since they started calling themselves Obsidian, probably. Best Fallout game probably. "
Yeah the game has an awesome peak, unfortunately it's midway through the game. The actual climax of the game is not the highpoint by any stretch.

I didn't have much trouble with bugs (none game-breaking at least) but even I would say that it's not a strong GOTY contender. The vision of the game is hamstrung by the limits of the engine. There are so many potentially awesome setpiece scenes that unfortunately wind up looking like someone playing with action figures.

I would argue that it has the best story / writing of the year though.

Shadow Broker is totally worth it. I just bought it a couple weeks ago at full price and have no regrets.

Will be picking up Kasumi and Overlord.

Yeah no kidding. Marston was DQ'd essentially because Jeff couldn't be bothered to play RDR.

There must be something going on behind the scenes as to why Jeff has it out for that title. I remember him being pretty openly miffed on a podcast that they didn't receive review copies so he decided not to review it and didn't want to do more coverage.

Yeah... I know the feeling.

Overhearing people talk about Demon's Souls made me want to play it even though it sounded like something I wouldn't enjoy. Turns out I should have trusted my instincts.

I get the same feeling whenever I hear anyone talk about SC2. I know that type of gameplay is not my cup of tea, but when people get so excited about it -- it just makes me want to try it regardless. No way I'm dropping $60 on it though.

All the 360 has in 2011 is basically Gears 3. PS3 has a pretty stellar lineup. If money is tight I would invest that money towards games. I enjoy my 360 primarily for the XBL experience which you don't seem to care much about.

I saw the Witcher's face again and I thought "HOLY SHIT they are gonna have some crazy pre-order deal for the Witcher 2!!!"

And then it's the same fucking deal they've had countless times before and even is the same price on Amazon. This sale has been a fucking snoozefest.

I played through both Bad Company games this year. I found the first one to be charming, but I can't remember a single fucking thing about BC2's campaign.

MP was a blast for a while. But I got tired of it fairly quick. It might make my top 10 only because it was a pretty lean year overall. Would definitely put it behind Black Ops though.

This. Although I probably get sucked back into Diablo 2 for at least one weekend per year.

If you enjoy Mass Effect I would say that you should give Alpha Protocol a shot.
