@Humanoid: Goddammit, I can't even look at a *picture* of Charlie Day without giggling. I can't even remember the context behind that one, but still I laugh.

I'm about an hour into Amnesia, don't see what the big deal is. I found Bioshock scarier than this.

The first hour or so is just setup. Keep going.

The only horror game to truly make me physically exhausted with tension is Amnesia, and one unscripted moment in Penumbra: Black Plague. (I'm not trying to sound "tough", I just watch, read, and generally partake in so much horror that I'm desensitized to most of the tactics they use) If someone manages to make a game much scarier than that, I may finally find my limit.

Everyone talks about the invisible water creature chase, but for me the scariest bits were the prison (again an unscripted moment that made me leap right out of my chair) and that damn painting. The only times I ever had to "NOPE" my way out of a game and take a breather.

Depends on the game, but yeah, I love minimalist HUDs. Not for immersion, just for style.

I'm at 19,300 after spending the longest time with a number ending in 1... this makes me happy.

wow...just wow....listen to all of you...I bet not one of you has played the game right through....just saying it's shit based on the graphics and a few levels.....go back to playing cod the LOT of you ungrateful turds. The game is good. It's not the greatest game but it is not at all bad and if you are a south park fan it is actually one of the best arcade games you can get.

Firstly the game is a platformer which will immediately alienate 99% of you. If the greatest platforming title of all time which is Mario Bros 3 were released today.....I'd hate to see how you idiots would treat it.

Secondly the game incorporates classic old style gameplay......you know...when games used to actually be difficult? So I can imagine people using up all their game lives in this game because it is not easy. It's not hard either but it does hold a challenge and you can't just expect to pass a level 100% without knowing a few platforming tricks. It's sorta like across between megaman/mario/rayman....if you hate this game you probably hate Megaman.

This game is for fans of the platform genre. Expect to see high reviews from anyone who will give the game a chance and low scores from ignorant kids who don't like platform games.

Or it's the glitches, bad design, and forced replay that people hate.

Poor kid. If you get that worked up over a licensed XBLA game, you're going to succumb to hypertension by the time you turn 12... so, so sad...

The theaters around here are nice, but yeah, the volume is horribly loud. The Avatar re-release was physically painful at times. Until that stops, I'm done with action-heavy films at theaters. I've already probably taken ten years off of my hearing through music, no need to accelerate the process further with movies.

What sucks is living less than a mile outside of the range necessary for Verizon's highest DSL speed (which isn't fast either, but it still beats topping at less than 400kb/s down)... and Verizon being throttle-happy if you do anything more bandwidth intensive than checking your e-mail... I'd give your left leg for FiOS.

I agree that playing CAH was a mistake, but I'm still surprised that anybody could be truly offended by that game. It's one of those "cross the line twice" type deals, where it's SO over-the-top that it just boomerangs back into harmless nonsense. Definitely not something to air on a show that likes to maintain any shadow of decency whatsoever, but spend any given hour on the internet and you'll probably see worse.

I actually wasn't very familiar with the "game" before that night, other than knowing it was a Kickstarter project. I found it pretty vile, but putting together phrases on a card strike me as vastly different than if someone spontaneously actually said those things of their own volition. I guess that doesn't make it significantly better, but the way the complaining emailer made it sound, they were just sitting around making snide remarks about rape and abortion and hitler. But . . . yeah, I think a sober mind would have said "this . . . is going to end badly". :)

Exactly. With no real ill intent behind the phrases, it takes the edge off considerably. Of course, I've only seen it played during TNT, so seeing people that I know DON'T think like that play it may have softened it somewhat for me as well. (also, go watch that TNT... it's one of the all-time funniest, especially with Brad squirming the whole time)
