http://www.xyzzynews.com/ is a good spot to check out for a large variety of content quickly. Specifically I would recommend looking at games made by Adam Cadre, Andrew Plotkin, and Emily Short. Don't bother with Zork unless you are interested in history. Early Infocom has some terrible puzzles and a shallow parser.

I've been going through getting cases and cover prints for my SNES and N64 games and have gotten it down to about $1 a case, which is reasonable for me. That is, of course, without the crazy Canadian price you have to deal with. I've been considering starting a blog on here about it, but not sure how interested anyone would be. Do I just take pictures of my games and go.. Neat? Talk about each game? I dunno.

As far as the carts sitting in the open they are more durable than you might think. So long as they aren't outside in a swamp or direct sunlight all day every day then sitting on a shelf is perfectly fine. Cleaning them with some rubbing alcohol is a good idea if you haven't already. Just get some q-tips and go to town (careful not to get any on the label).

Lost Kingdoms II. From Software action/card hybrid.

Beyond Icewind Dale I and II it is pretty slim pickings if you are looking for that brand of RPG. Have you played Borderlands? GOTY edition on steam is relatively cheap (might want to wait for the sale coming up soon as it could be dirt cheap) and comes with a ton of content.

I believe it counts anything you load from the grid of games/apps. I haven't played 40 games for sure.

I walk around quite a bit at work and keep my 3ds on me most of the time so I have accumulated a good amount of steps and coins. I don't know how year two will go down as I will probably pick up a Vita pretty soon.

Not prophetic, but in whatever Bombcast was when Diablo 3 was first announced back in '08 the guys were speculating and hopeful if Blizzard would have it out by the end of the year. Jeff made a snide remark along the lines of "You guys are crazy. This is Blizzard. It won't be out until 2010."
