I took 418 battles and got 10 games tied for 1st place, then a further 5 tied for 11th. I may personally have divided those games into 3 tiers instead of 2, but there were more than a few places where I couldn't pick a favorite between the two presented to me and had to use the middle choice. Symphony of the Night against Link to the Past? How can I choose only one? I can't really find fault with any of the 10 I had in first, though I would maybe move Persona 4 and Morrowind down a half notch.

RankGame
1Planescape: Torment
1Super Mario World
1Metroid Prime
1Morrowind
1Persona 4
1Zelda: Ocarina of Time
1Castlevania: SOTN
1Zelda: A Link to the Past
1Dark Souls
1Super Metroid
11Chrono Trigger
11Final Fantasy VI
11Demon's Souls
11Super Mario 64
11Baldur's Gate II

I speak only English and I recently started always playing games with subtitles on so that I don't miss dialogue, so I certainly wouldn't mind playing a game with only French audio and English subtitles. If I had the choice between English audio and French audio, I would probably choose the French audio in two scenarios: 1) the game has a French setting and the audio helps with immersion or 2) the English audio is very bad and I'd rather not hear it.

Not sure how far out of the way it will be for you, but I've heard St. Vitus in Brooklyn is a pretty great place for metal in NYC.

Basically confirms all of the speculation and rumors about the development of this game, doesn't it? The non-story and jumbled together feeling, the reason that there were only 4 zones in the base game (and only 1 more with TTK), the characters that were teased and then never showed up in the game, the reason it's been so light on additional content. Also, seems pretty obvious now why Joe Staten left Bungie. I can't imagine writing a story for several years and then having my boss axe all of my work to throw together something new in a single year. It sounds like his and his team's lore mostly made it into the game, at least.

Here's hoping we'll get to see the other zones and the Mars raid they talked about, the game really could still use another handful of patrol zones and more endgame content.

@lukeweizer: Yeah, you have the general idea correct. For competitive-tier decks, removing a handful of 3 or 4 health minions is pretty simple, so you really have to protect your Frothing Berserkers for a turn if you want to get them to high attack values and Grim Patron becomes much less useful as a board-clearing tool when they don't have Charge as you generate them.

Since Patron Warrior decks generally only run 4 cards that represent game winning threats (2 Frothing Berserkers and 2 Grim Patrons), dealing with those 4 cards generally means that you have won the game against them. The reason that the deck is/was so strong is that you could keep all of the cards you needed in your hand until you were ready to play them, play several Whirlwind effects with the help of Emperor Thaurissan, and then attack with them on the same turn with the help of Warsong Commander. On top of that, all of the cards in the deck that weren't major threats did at least one of the following: a) help you draw into the cards you needed, b) enable your huge combo turns, or c) efficiently remove enemy creatures to help you survive longer. Since the deck has such a low threat density and there's not really a feasible way to protect your threats (by keeping them in hand) anymore, it's going to die off.

@tennmuerti: Which card would you have changed? I've seen people complain about Warsong Commander, Frothing Berserker, Battle Rage, Emperor Thaurissan, and to a lesser extent Grim Patron. Releasing Patron and Emperor basically gave Math Warrior the consistency it needed to close out games where they died before assembling combo and allowed that archetype to become today's Patron. I don't think any one of the cards is broken in a vacuum, just that the deck you put all of them has so much synergy and a damage potential that might as well be limitless. In Magic, it would be like if a Modern deck was being played in Standard.

I'm disappointed that they decided to outright kill the deck (especially since it's a skill-intensive one), but the point that Warsong limits the design space for future cards that are summoned with 3 or less attack and Charge is a legitimate one. I would have liked to see a 3 health Frothing and maybe an Emperor that can't lower card costs below 1 mana first, but I guess they didn't want to see the standard Patron/Handlock/MidDruid trifecta as the only thing anyone plays at Blizzcon. I'm almost certain Midrange Druid will still be on most Conquest lists, but perhaps some Handlocks will be dropped for something else and they'll mostly get what they wanted.

It just seems extra bad that Warsong Commander has been made into a piece of trash for arena too. It really ought to have cost-appropriate stats or maybe a +2 attack aura to give it something that doesn't just make it super-niche Raid Leader, which is already a bad card.

I lived in Chicago for about 6 months and went to Galloping Ghost once while I was out there. I regret not going more often as, like all of the other duders above have already said, their collection is amazing. I could have spent the whole day there and still missed some games. There's some really wild stuff in cabinets there, like a StarCraft shmup that's either hacked from the game or rips the assets out of it. The diner across the street is pretty great too; I got breakfast at like 3pm and ordered one (1) menu item that consisted of scrambled eggs, chicken cutlet in sausage gravy, pancakes and hash browns that came on three (3) plates and cost about $9.

I'm biased since both my girlfriend and I work for Ford (views expressed here do not express the views of the company, they are only my own, etc.), but I love my Focus ST and my girlfriend loves her Fiesta ST. If you get the ST3 package for the Focus or the Recaro package for the Fiesta you get nice, heated leather seats (partial leather in the Fiesta) which I imagine would be a nice step up in comfort for Canada. Worth noting that the Ford ST's come with summer tires, so you'll need to buy a second set for winter (but, in my humble opinion, it's much better to have dedicated winters rather than all-seasons anyway). In terms of fuel economy, I average 28mpg in the Focus ST split between city and highway, and my girlfriend gets about 31 in her Fiesta doing mostly aggressive city-style driving. If you're willing to spend $35k though, you might as well try to get a new Focus RS - which is an AWD Focus with a turbocharged 2.3L 4-cylinder engine that makes 345bhp. I can't imagine it's the most fuel efficient thing out there, but boy does it sound fun. I think we recently released information that it does 0-60 in 4.7 seconds.
