Sorry if this was answered and I missed it while skimming, but do the Series controllers still have history's worst shoulder buttons? LB and RB hurt my hands to use on Xbox One controllers, I hate rolling my fingers into them and I think they feel terrible to press individually as well and any game which requires holding those buttons is absolutely a nightmare. The Dualsense being more Xbox-like ergonomically is already turning me off but at least it has good shoulder buttons, but I'm trying to figure out in advance what the move is when my current DS4 inevitably bites the dust.

Speaking of "entire finger", do you try to put your entire finger on the Xbox One bumper? I stopped doing that a long time ago. Instead, try just moving sorta the middle part of your finger up to the bumper. Less finger movement, a lot easier to do in a flash, and a lot more comfortable to hold.

This is actually what I meant when I said "rolling my fingers up." I know the Official Guidebook â„¢ says to just shift the middle of your finger upwards into the crevice, but this is not what I've been doing since I was 2 years old and not what any other controller is designed to accommodate. I know it's technically easier to do than the other methods but I already don't love the weight of the Xbox One controller and I'm not about to relearn nearly 3 decades of controller usage. And in trying to use my entire finger to just press it as a normal button, the fulcrum of the LB/RB is so far towards the middle of the controller that it doesn't press well. So if that's the case too with the Series controller, that's a dealbreaker for me. Shrug.

They don’t really make a lot of these anymore so I’m basically into all the standards - everything from Arkane is great and Prey is the ultimate realization of the genre with just so many different approaches to each problem. The newer Deus Ex games were pretty good alrhough Human Revolution was much better than Mankind Divided. There’s been a lot of talk about Cruelty Squad being part of this genre but I think that’s kind of a stretch.

My favourite part about Prey is that the main force of enemies aren't linked to storyline outcomes, so it really does give you a level playing field when it comes to using your abilities. Dishonored was always a bummer because you had all of these awesome tools but using them made the state of the world shittier and more awful in the storyline, whereas Prey gives you a free pass on using all of the tools to reach your goal. It is really an incredible feeling to be able to go hog-wild 90% of the time.

@brian_: Put it into words better than I could have! I've had this conversation in real life with many of my friends, and this game really left me feeling pretty rotten by the end, and not for reasons the game intended. It does a twist-twist-twist, where the dating sim turns into a real and hard examination of mental illness, and then twists again to become a meta-horror game. It uses these mental illnesses as a way to disarm your brain to further narrative shakeups and then tosses them aside to focus on something else entirely without resolving any of them.

Into the Breach was my go-to game when I was traveling for work. Time just melted away. I could spend 5 hours in an airport for a layover and it felt like seconds, entire flights would vanish, and coming back to a hotel after a 12 hour day was exciting to me because I had just spent the whole work day ruminating on my next move. I'd put Into the Breach up with Spelunky HD as one of the very few perfect, literally perfect, video games.

@ll_exile_ll: This would be my preferred outcome. I haven't been a fan of the graphical updates they've done, but they are clearly an ambitious and talent-rich studio. It would be awesome to see a Bluepoint original with Sony funding.

@fisk0: I don't ever post here, but I have to say I completely agree with you in regards to liking the original "The Darkness" as opposed to the sequel.

And I wish they'd remaster it.

I like them both but the first one had such a distinct atmosphere and style to it that I really missed in the second one. Don't get me wrong I liked four-arm frisbee'ing a car door through eight guys at once and then wishboning their bodies and eating their hearts, but there was something so physical and tangible about the mafia story they were telling in the first game. Mafia plus demons.

@kyary: I honestly believe this. I bet the vehicles will have a tiny little NPC nestled in them somewhere because they weren't able to fix that aspect of the engine.
