I have family in Rockaway Beach and Long Beach and their homes and towns are devastated. No power, no water, no cell service, houses are demolished, cars have floated away. Here in Brooklyn, things were a bit tame. We lost power last night for about 5 minutes and it came back on. No subway system is absolutely the worst case scenario for the city. None of us who live in the outer boroughs can get into work.

Right now...? It's a toss up between Mass Effect 3, Borderlands 2, and Diablo 3. All good games, but they will undoubtedly considered as "great" games come GOTY time.

I think it looks incredible. It's very flashy and it's obvious the person who designed it is heavily into modern design and the new web aesthetic. I understand that in terms of usability it might not work, so I can see how someone who doesn't give a shit about design can think it looks bad. Like everything related to style or design, not everybody gets it and that's ok. The real problem might be that they went a little overboard with the look and sacrificed some usability features to make it look pretty.

The campaign is as generic as it gets... Playing on PC completely maxed, graphics are a few notches below BF3. Not crazy about the menu design or presentation in general. It follows the modern FPS shooter playbook to a T. Everything from the story exposition to the different mission sequences. Seriously, is anyone ever going to stray from the CoD template? The gun play is OK, the cover system is a bit difficult to do using keyboard and mouse, and I'm finding the enemy AI behavior to be a bit wonky.

The weirdest thing for me happens during the driving sequences. The game seems to switch to an entirely different .exe before it loads up and drops my resolution from 1080p 60fps to 720p at 30 fps. There's no way to change this and it's a bit jarring.

Overall, I'm OK with my purchase. I got it for 50% off and only payed 30 bucks for it. I haven't jumped into the MP yet, but from what I've read it seems like a good time.

Stop futzing around with BETA drivers and stick to WHQL drivers. You can't have it both ways. There's always a risk no matter how small, when constantly updating drivers. Stick to ones that work.

Because it doesn't hold a candle to Link to the Past... and the music sucks. Navi too.

I bet this isn't released until October. Halloween tie-in.
