This being VR made me just completely blank this game out the second I read its title.

I am absolutely not opposed to VR games, hardly even know what those are like, or can be like, outside some older PSVR stuff. But I also absolutely would prefer if the next Half-Life game was something I could play when it's out.

VR is too expensive and will probably remain that way for probably at least two more years. I have to upgrade my GPU first of all, which will be a significant chunk of money to begin with. And I'm justifying that eventual upgrade by it making all of the games perform and look significantly better.

I have not been paying attention at all to VR stuff, specifically because it's not even worth considering due to the associated costs, or future tense of it. Perhaps I will be able to justify it at some point after I've gotten a new GPU. But currently all of these VR things are at least $600.

And so far this is the only game that I would be at least a little bit interested in. It's difficult to get a sense for how interested I am exactly, because since it's VR and effectively does not exist for me, I can't really care about it. Regardless, one game is very far away from me spending lots of money on a platform. I will absolutely get a Switch before even considering it.

So yeah, I feel like maybe in about two years? Probably at the earliest.

Whether you should go with English or Japanese depends on if you prefer quaint, nostalgic dopeyness or something that's more apt for the setting and story vibes. I prefer both, which is frustrating.

Shenmue 3 didn't have a budget even remotely comparable to the originals, so it of course couldn't match them in the sense of being ambitious and revolutionary, or making a technological impact, but it certainly does a good job continuing along the path set out by them. Which I think is about all you could ask or hope for. So far this game has been extremely Shenmue. I contend that this is a good thing.

Pro Tip: You can turn off the inexplicable camera rectangle thing that shows up when you go into first person, by changing the option that is inexplicably called "Zoom" in the settings, which you inexplicably get to by pressing R1.

I didnt even know this was out allready.. they really just dumped it out huh.

Backers effectively subsidized the majority of the budget for Deep Silver, the publisher, which later screwed backers by making an exclusive distribution deal with Epic, which may have already gotten them back what they invested. So perhaps if the marketing is lacking, it's to do with sales not mattering too much to Deep Silver's profits in this case.

Or, probably they were never going to spend much on marketing for this game, but after the Epic deal they're extra not.

Yakuza do what Shenmue don't. Shenmue was great at the time, but that time has passed, just let it die!

I don't understand pointless negativity like this. Yakuza indeed do what Shenmue don't, and vice versa, which is why it's great that they both get to do their thing.

Also, the time for being trolly and telling people to let Shenmue die was four years ago when the crowdfunding campaign was active. That time has passed. Shenmue is now alive. And I think it's great.

The intro of Eye of the Tiger hits you in the face, but that also makes the contrast to the ensuing weak verse and tooty vocals that much worse. Pumps you up then lets you down.

Half of that song is bad. The intro and the parts where he yells about tiger eyes are good.

I much preferred the original when I was a stupid kid, but now that I'm a stupid adult who understands all the dumb goofs and references, I'd say I appreciate Gremlins 2 about as much.

We've been overdue for a Gremlins reboot for a while, and I hope that will continue being the case.

I am looking at the site and I cannot see any livestreams at all. The live icon is grey and Live on GB infinite just shows ExtraLife 2014 - Day 2: Part 11.

There are some gaps. Mainly this one where the next stream is on Friday.

Great but can we finally get the Donation Names and message turned off before the shitty comments directed at staff flow in? Let them read out big donations, no one cares about the guy donating $5 with some dumb shit attached to it.

As they tend to say, every donation matters. And I presume the idea is that all donation messages being acknowledged increases participation. I don't know what science would back that up, but it sounds reasonable to me. Like, you can't have $5 Choo Choo donation trains otherwise.

Didn't watch the whole of yesterday, but I only caught one bad donation message. Had penis in it, was removed. So risk-reward ratio is ok so far probably.

The first randomized character that appeared to me was Darth Stache-Nazi here.

I kind of regret not sticking with him. You rarely ever seem to see your face in the game though.
