Don't apologize for being right, FFVII is a masterpiece that deserves a full scale remake, and I'm saying that as someone who doesn't hold it as the greatest JRPG of all time, it's not even my fav Final Fantasy, but as far as cultural status and nostalgia go I feel it's more deserving than the vast majority of games that are getting remasters and crap now.

Yep, definitely, not my favorite FF but it's good enough and popular enough for a remake, I just really hope they don't make it an action RPG... even then I'd play it.

I've been listening to the Witcher audiobooks lately, the narrator does voices for all the characters and it's well done, I also recommend the audiobook of Ready Player One which is read by Wil Wheaton, it's a great way to experience it.

Screw skills, it took forever to actually make you good enough at any one particular thing, if you weren't min-maxing you'd never even feel the difference in levels, put it all into SPECIAL and perks, those were the real game changers anyway.

I don't know where all this bitching is coming from. This looked completely fucking awesome. Exactly the kind of mindless chaos I come to Doom for. I'm sure it will wear out its welcome before it's over, but it looks fun nonetheless.

Seriously, fuck this pessimism, everything about that looks like they took the New Order approach and applied it to DOOM gameplay, and looks completely freakin' rad.

@baronsamedi: I don't agree any one man can be the reason a big game is good, so I don't really see that. But regardless 3 was crap so that was all I was saying. I don't think we can ever find out just why, but I think Itagaki at least kept a proper direction on Ninja Gaiden given once he left and others took the helm they made such poor decisions on basic concepts. 2 was fun, I just think it made missteps and didn't live up to 1, but you have to understand I think 1 is one of the best action games ever made.

Have you tried Razor's Edge? I personally feel it's on par with Black as the best game in the series.

Anyway, yeah this looks mechanically alright, but that main character is so terrible I can't even fathom playing it because of it.

I can usually tell the difference between different bitrates of MP3s, but I can't really tell the difference between a 320kbps MP3 and lossless. Got 3/6, with all the wrong ones being 320s

The game was fully designed around those motion controls, the only reason the stick is even an option is because of whiners, you're going to be at a severe disadvantage if you don't use them.

Is this actually true? I remember Nintendo talking about how the gyro controls worked better than the sticks but I'd assumed that was just PR speak. I just can't imagine motion controls being more effective in a competitive third person game like Splatoon.

They're much more precise than you'd imagine, it's a lot like a mouse in regards to you're ability to make fine adjustments quickly, I can record a video showing the difference if you wish.

Doubly so if you ignore the map, because people can and will take advantage of a team that's focusing too much on an area, slipping past and inking their base by yourself because no one is paying attention is how games are won.
