@zaikman: Appreciate the info! I haven't seen any real bugs, but the performance has taken hits so hard it's gotten me killed multiple times now, as in frame hitches that freeze the screen for nearly a second while the game's logic keeps going.
I've died from flying directly into lava on one occasion, and not being able to juke enemy attacks in another.
I LOVE the game, but I think I might wait until the next patch to continue playing.
Instead of full transcriptions it might be a better idea to do make a wiki that gives an outline and timecodes to the discussions on that episode along with some choice quotes, it's still a lot of work but it wouldn't be as time consuming as typing out and spellchecking every single word.
Another podcast I listen to, Uhh Yeah Dude has this crazy fan called Weck who created exactly that for them, every episode page details each discussion and categorizes common themes and segments, take a look at one of the pages here to see what I mean:
@demoskinos: That's a pretty impressive upgrade since the last Onechanbara that came out here, I was planning on checking it out anyway just because I enjoy some generic hack and slash games, but a potentially competent character-action game with combat depth is gonna make it a higher priority now, thanks for that!
I'd love to hear some detailed explanation of the combat mechanics if you have the time, like at any given time what are your options, how does comboing work, does the game rely on flashy special moves that you use an energy bar to perform or does it have a super mode ala devil trigger? stuff like that.
Chaos Legion had some really good BGM that perfectly accentuated the game's style, lots of chanting choirs and orchestration, but it didn't really try to make it sound 'epic' kinda focused more on the actual melody and progression, also has so really great sounding percussion that was often the main beat, here's the track to the first stage, it really sets things off!
Hey guys, I was playing War of the Monsters earlier today and had a vague memory of another game I played on the PS2, I clearly remember there being another monster game in the similar vein where you had the ability to pick up the fleeing pedestrians and eat them to regain health (complete with small amounts of blood spray), now unless I'm being a dummy and you can actually do that in War of the Monsters and I don't remember how then I need help finding the game that did this.
I searched for such a game but the only thing I came up with is the Rampage series, and while it's true you can definitely do it in that I have never played a Rampage game, and the game I'm thinking of was 3D third-person, again I believe PS2 era.
If you think of it more as a Godzilla simulator than a Godzilla fighting game it makes a lot more sense, this is more in line with something like Robot Alchemic Drive than say War of the Monsters, that being said if you enjoy that kind of game then this might be for you!
