It took a little more getting used to than the classics, but once I did I honestly feel like I can get right up on people with way more confidence than some of the older games.

I have so many dreams where the same small things happen again in a different context, I swear 99% of my dreams have a part where a light switch doesn't work.

Often times I also experience a recurring nightmare where I have many 'false awakenings' in a row, but it's not just what most people experience when they say they get them, it has a scarier context to it, an example which has happened multiple times would be where dream has me laying in my bed and I realize I'm unable to move properly and feel really heavy, this triggers some sort of sense that 'hey I'm in a dream, this is what happens when I realize I'm in a dream, therefore if I want it to stop I need to wake up' so I try to force myself up out of the bed to find something to wake me up, most tries result in me barely able to fall off the side of the bed, which feels like it should wake me up because dream me thinks I can control my real body from a dream, so the dream will have me 'wake up' into another dream in the exact same scenario often accompanied by visual changes, and it'll repeat nearly a dozen times before my mind decides hey maybe he really does want to wake up.

Awesome, I love watching others experience a new game at the same time I'm playing it, just have to stay ahead of the episodes!

To do this correctly I'd need a clean image of the 'magic sealed' text box without it overlapping anything, if you can get a screenshot like that I can blend it.

What's this for anyway?

Does @danryckert read this thread?

Well anyway, two thing Dan got wrong in the 'Trailers' episode, the dude in the military beret is Miller, it's so obviously Miller, this is the second time Dan has failed to recognize Miller, first it was his voice and now it's his appearance, same face, same hair, same aviator sunglasses, same missing arm and leg from the helicopter crash.

Solid Snake never dyed his hair, the mission briefing mentions he cut his hair specifically to not be the same length as Liquid's and that's the only mention of it, the words 'dye' and it's permutations never show up in the entire MGS1 script including codecs. Solid's hair is brown, Liquid's is blonde because it's the dominant gene, (remember Solid was actually the one to get the recessives)

The whole 'hair dye' thing is a myth that continues to persist due to the mission briefing being in monochrome and his hair appearing to be blonde because of it's shininess, this was ret-conned in Twin Snakes when they show the scene in full-color, other examples of this stupid color phenomenon happening are Naomi and Meryl's codecs in MGS1, and Amanda in animated cutscenes in PW.

That being said he was originally supposed to be blonde with long hair just like Liquid (there are screenshots of this), however it was cut before the game went gold, so there are still minor left-overs that hold no relevance and have been retconned.

For all intents and purposes Solid Snake is a natural brunette, unless the decide to retcon it again with MGSV.

Rising is the farthest game in the MGS timeline, taking place after 4, it is probably the least connected to 5 out of the whole series canon, it's story is also self contained, almost nothing about the story connects to any of the other games at all.

That being said, do it anyway, it's a fantastic character-action game and can be completed in under 7 hours, you have plenty of time to play it and GZ before TPP.

Worth it for the story, not so much the game, honestly I'd say watch a cutscene compilation on youtube and save yourself the money, especially if you can only play the PSP version, those controls and that locked 20fps feels so bad.
