I've been messing around with the video recorder on the pc and have been, for the most part, recording the glitches and shit that have been occuring.

like when i got attacked by what must have been a ghost

Or when one of my tires decided to sink into the ground.

Or when my car decided it wanted to pull off some mad flip tricks.

@Ulong: There is no funeral cinematic. If you blow up the tower they just shout "now lets go bury johhny" and then you get the scene on the bridge.

Me and my girlfriend went as power rangers to a superhero themed party.

Sanctum + violator dlc would be fantastic.

[long ass post]

You're using the worst use of sex vs. the best use of violence, flawed argument.

Fair enough, it was definitely a gut reaction typed up in school cafeteria as i wait for my next class, but I would be interested in hearing some counter arguments for why violence deserves more attention in video games than sex.

Without a doubt, sex.

The important question to ask yourself is what is the purpose of these two things in video games. Sex in video games is almost always exploitative. It usually serves as an advertising point designed to draw in the immature and the adolescent. In most cases, sex does little to nothing for both the gameplay and the narrative.

For sex to truly be looked at in video games as a serious subject it MUST serve a purpose other than pornography. Unless it brings something important to gameplay or narrative, there is no reason for it to be there, and should be examined very closely by the public. If the purpose is for it to be pornagraphic, there is a whole other avenue for such games to come out, there's no need to bump nasties in regular ass video games.

Violence while carrying its own issues which are constantly under debate, is a much better fit for videogames. Violence is an extension of competition, which, at it's core, is what video games are all about.

@Akyho: 1st Boss: You can run around and he won't see you til you attack. Use this to, as Dash O' Pepper would say, "THROW A BARREL AT 'IM!"

2nd Boss: Have her hit the generators with her electrical attack. Three ought to do it (if you have EMP shielding, this is easier)

3rd Boss: You already got that one

4th Boss: If you persuaded Hugh Darrow into giving up his code, you can easily hack your way past the final boss.

And this proves my point: too many people went in guns blazing and then complained that the bosses all required their guns to be blazing...

Boss 1 : The stun gun can immobilize him for a period of time while you throw a barrel at him lol

Someone had the same idea as me

You both must see how that kind of playstyle is completely counter intuitive to how people had been playing the game up until now. If you had been playing stealth, carrying the silenced pistol and the non lethal weapons, odds are you would've been playing in a much different manner.

Yes, the game provides alternatives that often do not involve firing a shot, but those strategies are not interesting or even satisfying to use. Had they let us make better use of the stealth mechanics, the boss fights could've been more interesting. Instead it came down to either having the right augs, abusing the ai's animations, or stun locking; not very compelling.

I cannot help but state again that the problem lies not with the player for not finding the alternatives, but with the devs for providing the players with such poor alternatives. Ultimately the boss fights all came down to being various buckets you filled with damage, and that is not how these boss fights should've played out.

Wasn't all the cg trailer stuff done out of house? I was under the impression that Square Enix handled that, which is quite likely why there was a slight disconnect between what was in the trailer and what was in the game. I mean, in one of the trailers you get the invisible woman starting a riot in detroit and walking alongside one of the giant robots. That never even came close to happening in game.

It is perfectly fair however, to assume that all these were originally concepts the game was hoping to include but had to cut due to time constraints and the like. For instance, it would've been nice to include a longer introduction where you see Adam having his nightmares and drinking. I feel like this game had a lot of potential that didn't quite get explored all the way and the trailers seem to confirm that a lot of ideas either got shifted or removed entirely.

I mean really, it's a shame that the trailers are almost required viewing in order to fully unravel the depth in the characters.

a revolver upgraded with explosive rounds will take him out with no problem even if you had your augs disabled.... mostly because at that point the revolver no longer requires aim.

There's a mouse and keyboard mod you can download, but again the problem is that the pc version is awful. I remember playing it with a friend a while back and the controls were so godawful that it became a co op game with one man aiming and the other moving. So many of the buttons are strewn in awful places on the keyboard that having a mouse as well makes it impossible to play .
