I think that it's really important to examine not only the problems with AAA games from a consumer prospective, but also what the root cause of those problems might be. To do that we need developers like Manveer talk about what the culture at some of these studios are actually like and the systemic problems that lead to bad games being released and potentially good ones getting canceled. I really appreciated how frank the discussion was and thought the insights he gave as an experienced developer were extremely valuable.

I spent $250 on a copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga a couple months ago. I still haven't had a chance to play it.

Same here, $200 for a still shrink wrapped copy, but that was a whiiiiile ago. Dude who sold it had worked at Sega and found a bunch of stuff in boxes while moving around, nice guy, he threw in a bunch of beta/RC discs of various things as well.

Wow that must of been, 'cause that's a steal. The only reason I got mine for so cheap is because it's European. It's functionally identical to the NTSC version (it even runs at the correct speed on a US Saturn with an Action Replay) and costs somewhere around half as much.

I would buy digital all the time (I started the generation doing this), but Amazon gives you %20 off on pre-orders (and new releases until recently). Digital convenience isn't worth $8-12 on every major release I get on consoles.

Don't really have an issue with it, but I did notice. I sometimes feel like the character has a funny look on their face, like they have something to say, but have just decided to keep it to themselves.

I love The Witcher, the whole game series and the short stories and novels, and I love Ciri as a character, but come on: Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be something new and exciting. CDPR spent nearly 10 years with The Witcher and delivered 3 outstanding games and stood behind their products with great, meaningful updates and some of the best DLC I've ever played. That's not to say that I wouldn't be excited to hear about a new Witcher game, but if they could only make one more game: better to go out swinging for the fences: go out on Cyberpunk.

Here's USGamer's Review by Mike Williams - 4.5/5

and Eurogamer's by Oli Welsh - Recommended

and Waypoint.Zone's impressions by some guy named Klepek.

Things are looking good. Just ordered my copy to get in on that 20% discount on Amazon pre-orders.

I would think that with the announcement of Kiwami 2, they now have quite a bit of time before they have to finish Kiwami (no official release, but I would guess this time next year at the earliest). I wouldn't be suprised if that pushes any plans they might of had back a bit so they can spread things out more evenly.

I'll move to 4k once prices for projectors are a bit less astronomical (might get a 4k monitor before that though, who knows).

@frostyryan: As someone who has specifically had trouble getting into the 2D Metroid games, I can't reccommend Zero Mission enough. It walks a very fine line by generally letting you know where to go next without making it too easy to actually get there. I bounced off of Super Metroid several times and Zero Mission held my hand just enough to let me understand what makes these games really special. As a primer for this type of game, I think it's perfect.

Also, AM2R is a fan remake of Metroid 2 released last year. It got cease and desisted by Nintendo after launching, but is still fairly easy to find if you go looking for it. I haven't played it myself but it's apparrently very good.
