@teddie: Not all classes had to spend much time behind cover in ME2 and 3. The class in this trailer appears to be a Vanguard based on the biotic charge and they were almost never hiding, especially in 3.

I just watched an IGN video earlier today where they said they were taking cues from ME3 multiplayer combat for the singleplayer in Andromeda, aiming for having a player only taking cover for tactical reasons.

@humanity: In the real world there can be justification for violence in some cases, it's hard to imagine a situation where sexual violence could be defended.

I loved Mass Effect 2 and 3 but the planetary exploration of 1 was sorely missed by me. The planets were largely samey and boring and the Mako controlled like ass, but I wanted those aspects improved upon not removed entirely. Mass Effect is at its best when you're exploring an alien galaxy and learning about the universe, that's what hooked me in the first place. There are plenty of games with dialog trees and a focused narrative, I want Mass Effect to be more.

Now they could fuck it all up and implement it poorly and that would be a terrible shame, but personally I am very excited at the prospect of exploration returning to the series.

The entire story of these forgotten rustbelt people is total bullshit. Those people have been ignored throughout my entire lifetime by Republicans, but they were thriving under Bill Clintion. I will agree that Clinton made mistakes by completing George Bush's work on NAFTA and repealing Glass-Steagle but you can't say he didn't care about the middle and working classes. Nearly everything Obama has tried to do was to benefit the poor and working classes. Though it was blocked and gutted at every turn, Obamacare was an attempt to empower people of any income level to have affordable health care. He took control of GM to protect the jobs and pensions of the exact manufacturing-dependent people these stories all talk about. He tried to pass huge stimulus packages to protect the same people from the recession. Those were whittled down at every opportunity by Republicans. I'm not saying Obama was perfect, but he never ignored these people.

This narrative of liberal elitism forcing good people to vote for an authoritarian misogynist sexual predator bigot is just more propaganda coming from right wing media sources.

Nailed it

This is it right here. There was a big deal made about how much each side fears each other and how both sides are at fault. The problem is that Republicans are afraid of things that exist only in their minds. They're fed a non stop stream of bullshit by their politicians, talk radio, and Fox News and so they're terrified of losing their guns and Sharia law and the army of illegal rapists crossing the border.

Democrats, on the other hand, are afraid of things Republicans themselves say they want to do and intend to do. They fear their ACTUAL policy and not whatever fantasies they've dreamed up. I don't need to listen to what Democrats say to know I should be anti Republican, I just have to pay attention.

Anyone that isn't white, straight, and filthy rich is voting against their interests by voting republican, but they've managed to brainwash so many people into thinking that their group of rich people somehow cares so much more about them than the other group of rich people. If everyone would go beyond what their politicians are saying and actually watch what they were doing we'd be in a much better place right now.

@artisanbreads: And the republicans have complete control. Nothing good is going to happen on that front.

Speaking of that, funny how these people who hated politicians SO much and were so desperate for any outsider happened to vote back in all their same congressmen.

GTA Online is still a broken mess and controls like shit. It can be a lot of fun doing stupid nonsense with friends, but it's always a hassle.

Just because something is popular and makes a lot of money doesn't mean it is well made.

Between the sales and the 6 games a month I get far more than my $5 worth out of PS+. I keep hearing about how awful Playstation download speeds are, I wonder if it's a regional thing. I rarely have issues with download speeds. Never really did on PS3 either, the installs were what always ate up a ton of time.

The Playstation Store is bafflingly bad on all of their systems, though. More often than not it won't load for me on PS3 or PS4, it's to the point where I use the PC store for everything. You'd think their storefront would be their highest priority since that's how you give them money, but I guess not.

Definitely not for me. The characters were great but I didn't like playing it at all. I dropped it down to easy about halfway through just so I could see the story while making the game as painless as possible. The survival stuff is also completely overblown. It was a very simple system and I was swimming in materials and ammo for almost the entire game(even when I was still on normal). I couldn't use it as quickly as they gave it to me.

I don't see killing Marlene and the Fireflies as being sad at all. If Marlene didn't talk them out of it they had every intention of murdering Joel once he gave them Ellie. As far as they knew he was gonna take his money and go, but they were going to kill him in his sleep just because. I wouldn't trust people like that to handle the power of having the cure to a worldwide plague anyway. The ending struck me as being as 100% happy as a story in that world could be, which I found kinda surprising and refreshing.

Naughty Dog, while putting out some amazing games, have been more miss than hit for me so I wouldn't want them held up as the pinnacle of game development. Can't think of anyone that has been terribly consistent lately.

Not sure what I would pick for game of the generation, though. Mass Effect is my favorite series but they all had various issues. Maybe Demon's Souls.
