So Chell could be Caroline's daughter? Maybe even Cave and Caroline's daughter?
It would fit with the "Bring your daughter to work day" and the whole adopted thing. Caroline may have adopted Chell or maybe Caroline gave her up for adoption.
I could actually handle Oblivion's re-used dungeons because often there were different objects set up through them so there would be new equipment, etc.Â
As long as it's not as bad as the embarrassment that was Dragon Age 2, I'm happy.
" This is going to sound sexist, but just think of ALL THE FUCKING WOMEN that have been shoved in as the protagonists for video games released in the last few years (especially Japan) : I'm not gay, but LESS GIRLS IN MAH VIDJA GAEMS PLZ!!!!! "
I feel like the guys they would make would just be generic as hell too. Every single male protagonist from JRPGs this gen was TERRIBLE with the exception of Kaim (Lost Odyssey) and MAYBE Capell (Infinite Undiscovery).
Here in Nova Scotia we don't have anything like earthquakes or tornadoes. Well we do get tornadoes but they are very rare and very small. Like honestly I can't think of any natural disasters I could possibly be affected by, unless it's something like a Mudslide (which can be ridiculously disastrous) but I've never even heard of them around here.
So I just beat the game and here are my thoughts about the pacing. I'm just gonna break the game up into the story sections, based on where I started liking it and not liking it:
Spoilers, obv.
First part, before Wheatly takes over - Awesome. Wheatly sends you underground - Tedious. You find GlaDOS - Awesome. You have to go through what seems like ENDLESS chambers for Wheatly - Tedious. Final Chapter and ending - AWESOME.
So in terms of pacing, yeah it was a bit of a rollercoaster. But the ending was so fucking good and just I loved how it ended that it really made the game for me. Sadly I don't think I'll be able to play the game through again until a long, long time. I just wish my internet connection was good enough to be able to play co-op :(
In my experiences I've found that BlazBlue is awesome with friends. Like, crazy awesome. It's a lot more flexible than both Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat yet still has a very strict side to it if you want to get deep into it. Here is a list of great ones though:
BlazBlue: Continuum Shift SSF4 Virtua Fighter 5 Marvel vs. Capcom series
Mortal Kombat (haven't played, but looks good)
IMO Arcana Heart 3 looks like a pile of steaming shit so I'd stay away from it, but that's just me. I don't really think the PS3 has any exclusive fighters besides that one though so it's basically the same as other platforms. And by other platforms I mean the 360 lol, minus Dead or Alive.
I feel like the core Rare team that made all those older games are gone and therefore may not satisfy the true fans. However, their team is still extremely talented and that's not to say that new games will disappoint.
For instance, Banjo fans might have been a bit disappointed in Nuts n Bolts. But myself having never played a Banjo game, I think Nuts and Bolts is one of the best platformers I've ever played. And even if I were to play Banjo 1 or 2 I wouldn't change what I thought about Nuts n Bolts. I just think that that team might not be able to deliver on the nostalgia that old Rare has created because fans + nostalgia = impossible to please.
Basically, I think they've moved on which I think is a great thing.
