You may not know Olly Moss' name but you've probably seen his work; it's been regular blog fodder for a while now and for good reason--Moss' creations are fantastic and inspired. Insomniac Games decided to throw a curve ball in retail's direction with the box art for Resistance 3 and partnered with the British artist.

"We wanted Olly’s work to reflect that in Resistance 3, YOU are the Resistance," said Insomniac Games senior community manager James Stevenson on the Playstation Blog this morning. "Resistance 3 isn’t a military shooter, as the United States Army and SRPA have been destroyed. Instead, Resistance 3 is about the remnants of humanity finding any way possible to survive in a brutal world."

In addition to collaborating on the box, Moss has produced a series of Resistance-inspired pieces, some of which have debuted today, others to be dolled out as the game's public relations campaign rolls out.

Whether or not you even care about Resistance 3, you should keep up with Moss at his website.

I'm liking the city teeth and statue of liberty.  Wish he did something like that with the eyes/ nose

Love the series and definitely anticipating Resistance 3. This has been my go-to FPS franchise since the original.

Why not call them "World War II and Aliens and Stuff" and "World War II and Aliens and Stuff 2", respectively?...*starts development on guaranteed best seller World War II and Aliens and Stuff*

The box art will be the only good thing about it! :D

I don't know how it will affect sales numbers but I like it, its kind of ballsy for American boxart. Its not a man with a gun which is kind of amazing.

Love the art on this, but the PlayStation Move Compatible logo is definitely distracting.

Looks to me like the art was designed with the logo placements (which are on every game's box) in mind. They're not obstructing anything but more orange. A smart and welcome decision. These logos aren't going anywhere, as people have been complaining about them for a decade plus. So design around 'em.

I like it. Its not the usual man on fire, or man pointing gun or yawn you get the picture.

Pretty nice... Shame about all of those ugly logos on the front, though.

I gotta say, I'm not that impressed. Oh well.
