Persona 3 Portable is an enhanced port of Persona 3 for PSP. New features include an additional female protagonist as well as certain gameplay adjustments introduced in Persona 4.

did you guys notice in the second game play clip that the girl has S link options with both the guys and girls of the party now ? (she cancels options with junpei and yukari, and does an S link event with Ken)..
so could this possibly mean that they've added in the Persona 4 in-battle perks as well ? that would explain there being S links for all the party members now ..

An optional female MC. The current assumption is that you will be able to play as either male or female since the male MC has also been featured prominently in promotional material for the game.
@Venatio: You play as the guy or the girl, but not both at the same time. I think the full game is in there excluding The Answer from FES (I would say so anyway). This takes place in 2008 I think(?), roughly 2-3 before P4 anyway.
The video is as high a quality as can be expected that said it was somewhat blury. Was that a new Persona they got from the draw? I couldn't tell for sure but I didn't recognize it.
Also keep in mind the lack of a second control stick mean they had to change the interface and camera. As for them being sprites, I can't say for sure but they still look to be rendered in engine.
@Aaox: Ah it'll be grand. Whether it's through menus or in realtime it's not like there's anything to do except talk to people anyway. The new music isn't too bad either since it had that P3 feel to it (J-pop-ish-hip-hop-ish-ness(?), you know what I mean since I'm sure you've played P3 before).
@endaround: It looks to me that Persona was Hecatonchieres, so no, that wasn't a new one. I think there will be new Personas in this, but I expect them to be ones already seen in other games.

The poses were but not the group shot. The other thing to notice is that there were no following characters in the dungeon screen meaning that splitting up the party looks out.

I will be buying a PSP 3000 this week, this + Persona 1 + FF 1 and 2 20th anniversary editions + Portable Ops and Peace Walker, I'm sold, too bad the PSP Go will be so expensive but I like the bigger screen from the 3000 anyway.
Well it definitely looks as though you can choose gender. I think I may have to buy a PSP just for this. I'm not liking the look of the PSP Go!. Maybe a regular one is the way to go for this.
I'm loving all of it. Definately done with having it on the go in mind. Plus you still have control in the dungeons so, if anything it speeds up the game a bit. Which is totally okay with me. Man I can not have enough of this. I can't wait to play through as a female. Its gonna be like playing the game for the first time again, and I welcome that immensely.

Oooh. New images. Is it Christmas? Certainly seems like the case. :3 Hmm. Textures seems sharp for a PSP game and that's a LOT of pink...u. Then again there was a lot of blue in P3. I do like the colour change though.
The videos were great in relaying some questions about how things would work. I see that while the backgrounds are static you can jump around to each character in the room to get things done and listen to their conversations. I'm still not a huge fan of this but am willing to accept this since the game is being shrunk down to fit on a portable.
Also, I think video 1 proves that any questions over the use of the evoker remaining in the game should be put to rest. The female character definitely "shoots" herself in the head to call up her persona.
I'm not sure they censored it. If you pay attention closely the player presses a button during the animation meaning it looks like they skipped the full summoning animation. Given the opening still has it featured prominently I doubt its being covered up.
mmm....looks like as good an excuse as any to play persona 3 and shoot myself in the head all over again, i guess it'll soon be time to dust off my old psp....i wonder if it will remember me after so long?
