If I recall from the previous ER, you can ditch carrying the m-16 ammo as it's going to be a while before you get it, doing that or playing darts at the dart bar will give you more weapon slots.

Now, on the bright side...even if someone did spoil the late game stuff, that's only the how and the who.  Nothing can prepare your mortal mind for the awesomeness of the final parts of the game.
