@Kanji_Tatsumi:
ive actually really enjoyed watching the series up untill this last week, i havent seen anything happen apart from a serious amount of dialogue, and tbh watching words go across the screen isnt my favourite thing to do in the world, agreed tht jrpg's would be the best games to use as endurance runs but there are a lot more action based ones out there, and i would much rather have maybe 2 or 3 endurance runs per month then watch the same game for months on end too.
im not bein a negative nancy about the whole thing but this last week or so has been dragging on a lot.

For the record, no, you don't need to max out all your social links to get the true ending. I got the true ending my first time through and I only finished roughly half the social links. I finished all the party members except Kanji, and I finished Dojima's and Nanako's.

The point of the endurance run, was to take a long-ass game that Jeff and Vinny would never be able to play in their spare time (though Jeff did, somehow), and play it on camera. Having short ER's kinda goes against the name Endurance Run.

One: If those guys ment to show a long-ass game that's completely about action, they'd go with Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. And then discontinue the ER because of lack of interest after maybe 10 episodes. Why? Because action, especially when the gameplay is repetitive, in video games tends to be less exciting when you are not actively participating. If Persona 4 would be more about fights and the proportions would be 75% grinding and 25% story, you'd find yourself not caring about it at all. Fights in RPGs tend to be exciting for the player, because there is always the thrill - what the hell is going to happen, "AMAGAD I got 150 HP's, what the fuck I'm gonna do now, it's the other guy's turn!". That doesn't mean it's going to be kewl to watch for people just looking at a recorded video. You still can find lots of people here on the site stating that they mostly skip the dungeons and grinding, so that means something. Also, look up some dungeon episodes and see how tired Jeff and Vinny can sound when grinding or not developing Social Links or the plot.

Two: Two, three Endurance Runs? A month?! But this is completely missing the point of an ER! ENDURANCE, I capitalise that, this is what it's about. Jeff and Vinny took this game because it's horribly long (not even for today's standard - just plain long) and has a gameplay that needs you to keep focused for most of the time. The premise was obvious at the start, hell, even stated in the first episode - they wanted to see how long they're going to last when doing it as a chore, or rather as part of their work instead of something they're popping up when they really want or have the time when they are not working.

Three: You are completely missing the point of those videos and the duo's efforts.

Sad to see that this turned into a rather futile debate about personal taste. You simply won't convince each other.

Teddie's pity party really gets on my nerves. Kanji needs to punch some sense into him.

I had forgotten how uneven the story got towards the end...particularly with its "twists".

Why is everyone saying that to get the "True Ending" you need to max all the S.Links? I got the True Ending with only all of the girls(Naoto,Chie, Yukiko and Rise) + Yosuke and Teddie, it doesn't make a difference, just the ending will be a tad a bit longer.

No no no.  Finish on December 22, exactly.  Actually, there's another trick to that.  I heard some people say that your party S. Links (Kanji, Rise, etc.) aren't available this month, but I never saw that.  I think it works...weird here.  I think you have to start the final dungeon at least before they open.  So in direct opposition to the normal way you do dungeons, start it ASAP, get a third of the way in or whatever you can in one day, and then never touch it again until the final day.  Don't worry.  Once you (and thus Rise) hit level 75 or so, you'll probably never need Fox' help again.

Not sure if that's meant to be an insult or a complement.

Either way, I A) Am a writer, and B) Consider this game's story as one of the top game stories I've ever played.

So I guess I'll take it as a complement.

The writings of a lunatic are as follows:  The limo that is the velvet room is a manifestation of Charlie's power to use persona.  It represents a haven and a vessel that protects you as you travel through the foggy shadow world to solve the mystery associated with the Fool.  Charlie's power is in essence the ability to draw power from the bonds he's made in Inaba.  This means that all the people he brings into the TV world are secretly protected by the power  of the vessel which is what allows them to face their true selves when in Charlie's presence.

Since Junes was the first TV Charlie entered that makes the shadow TV studio Charlie's  "world" which also acted as a haven within the shadow world itself.  As fate would have it this world spawned only 1 shadow which represented the side of Charlie that wanted to guide him to the answer of the mystery at hand.  As the vessel protects all the bonds he forms, so did it protect this creature who was the 1st shadow Charlie met.  That protection gave rise to the development of free will as well as an ego allowing this shadow to name itself "Teddie".

When Teddie entered the real world he couldn't reflect an actual shadow because he himself was a shadow.  Instead he could only reflect a real body that was created by the side of him that wanted to pick up chicks.

Of course its just a silly video game.

GOD I love the Igor impressions so much.

Also man, Yosuke can be a real cock sometimes.

But he DID produce the bathing suits on the camp trip, so he can be pretty awesome sometimes too. He's no Kanji, though.

Nice after-school-special understanding dialogue, too.

What closure you get in the bad ending? Nothing gets explained, people die, the countdown to the end of the world starts.

If that's closure, get the bad ending in Persona 3 - that's what I call closure. Like, the closure of everything.

Wait what the countdown to the end of the world? So is this how it connects to the other shin games which I think start after the world has ended...
