Giant Bombcast 06/17/2014

Well done, Brad! I didn't even notice that we lacked the usual hosts for most of it.

I laughed so hard at the poop email I think I woke my neighbors up.

1. Brad did a GREAT job at hosting the bombcast. He didn't sound sleepy at all.

2. Tom Corigan or whatever your name is; you are a monster.

3. Why was Brad so nervous at reading that pooping email? Remember when Brad was listening to "that station" in jeff car on mixlr? Now that something to be ashamed of.

I ended up waiting for someone to say something for ten seconds or so after the podcast ended since the theme didn't play. Also, Brad did a good job.

@dannyodwyer I completely agree about Assassin's Creed. Love the elaborate set-ups for an assassination in AC1, they just need to find a way to make it less repetitive and more fun.

I wonder how tuesdays will go moving forward it would be cool to have Jeff/Brad/Drew and one guest every week. I hope you've considered this, @jeff.

Correction on his explanation of the strike's on harder difficulty, it is not telling you that the weapons will do less damage, it is saying you are under geared at that difficulty level

Great job, Brad! I really enjoyed this bombcast. Poop email was gross but funny. Your reluctance to read it was probably the funniest part.

Also, any chance the premium podcast could be uploaded first in the future? It usually gets posted around the time i have to leave the house, and although the advertisements are good and all, the novelty has worn off for me. And waiting 5-8 hours before I get back to listen is a nuisance, especially since it's during my travel time that I need it the most. Not end of the world stuff, but would be appreciated to be served first is all :)

This bombcast was actually really great. Perhaps not the funniest I've heard, but it was a tight ship. Brad was really good as host . Perhaps the crew should think over of having Brad as host and have Jeff going back to sidekick role I find him being best at where he can be his crazy himself and it sounds like this is way better use of Brads laidback nature. Perhaps it was the combination of guests that made this work, but it would probably be something to think of in the future!

On the Ubisoft fake co-op voice chat thing: I don't get why people are bothered by it. Yeh it's obviously very fake and a bit cheesy but I don't think anyone at any point thought that they are intended to sound realistic. I think it was always clear that it's dramatised for effect and it's meant to show the ideal vision of how people could play that game in the developers' minds, even though no one will actually do it like that.

I personally find it a bit goofy at worst, but mostly an effective and engaging way of demoing a multiplayer game and getting an idea across. There is nothing stopping people from playing the game exactly like that and the fact that nobody will is not really Ubisoft's problem, they are just showing one possible scenario. Whether the final game actually has all of those features and allows for that kind of play is another issue entirely.

@drewbert There's a paint ball place near to where I live that actually has a real predator. He shows up randomly during the games and you have to stand still if he comes near you otherwise he'll just light you the fuck up. It's super fun.

i'm with @rorie, i'm very skeptical of No Man's Sky at this point because there's just not been enough specifics. It's all very broad with basically no real gameplay. I remember way back i had been amazed by both Little Big Planet and Spore but neither of those lived up to the lofty goals of their initial reveal so we'll just see how it goes

Brad should host more often.

I think having Brad as host from now on might actually be a really good idea because it forces him to stay awake and attentive for the whole show.
