Psych is actually a decent show. Actually a lot of those USA shows aren't terrible. Also, when discussing the Nolan North as a cat burgler idea, Jeff basically describes the plotline of Leverage, which is also a fairly decent show. I find myself enjoying decent television more and more.

I was literally 20 feet away from the gas pump at the gas station, when I ran out of gas. My car stopped cold in it's tracks, no coasting into the pump. So I got out, pushed it the rest of the 20 feet, filled up my tank, and drove off like nothing happened.

I went through the entire podcast without realizing that he wasn't there. I must have missed them mentioning that or something.

Unearned fast travel is the worst. I love Darksiders 2 but I hate needing to use fast travel.

I thought the serpent hole system in the first game.

Skyrim could have dropped fast travel expanded the cart hire system and I would have enjoyed it a lot more.

The governments giving game development any tax breaks or nothing in Europe, it lead to many a dead devs in Britain this generation around. When it comes to Sweden there's DICE but they're doing what EA lets them to, Starbreeze though they just lost their oldest remaining employee and probably aren't going to live much longer, Avalance being the healthiest cleanest dev here with the most promising future of the goddamn lot, and a bunch of real sweet indie devs!
 
 
And PSN in the US seems put on a super shitty content provider because I go beyond 10 megabytes a second on Euro. Naturally I drop to megabytes a second trying to use the Japanese network.

I also had a waterbed throughout junior high and the first year of highschool. I'd like to try one again now that I'm having back issues. But for reals, playing videogames on it sucked because you wanted to get as close to the tv as possible, and sitting on the edge hurt my tailbone. And sitting just inside a bit displaced the water and you would slide down in between the bag and the wall/liner, which was way more uncomfortable.

Yep. They justify it by saying it can be ANY higher power, but most people I've talked to say they REALLY prefer it if that power is the Christgod. Which is why I was amused to hear Jeff's comment about it.

Psych is a great show. And it's only up to season 6.

Neither White Collar or Suits are about brothers. But both are great shows.

Also, the only USA show I can think of with a doctor is Royal Pains, and he is a legit doctor. Or Necessary Roughness, but she's a shrink...not a real doctor.

So apparently MMO players are all ''intense weirdos'', you heard it here folks. I really wish these guys would stop talking about MMOs. We get it, you hate them and think it's a dying genre in need of complete overhaul. But guess what, there are many many millions of people who disagree, so please stop repeating the same thing over and over again.

So, are we destined for the GOTY show to be as farcical as last years? With Brad refusing to play Mass Effect 3 and Ryan continually putting off playing The Walking Dead, we're going to end up exactly where we were last year. I.e, very little debate, because the guys haven't played many of the games that the others nominate. It'll be Witcher 2 getting in at no.6 despite only Vinny playing more than a few hours of it, Skyrim getting the nod from Ryan when he hasn't played it etc etc.

Is it so hard for them to say to each other 'Look guys, here's 5-6 I'm really into - could you try and play at least a couple of hours of them, just so we can at least discuss it at the end of the year'? With the games drought we've just had, and the fact that Patrick and Vinny have been playing things like Vanquish and Jeff's been playing C64 games or something...

They have a lot to do, I realise that. But certain games are obvious contenders for serious consideration. Not playing them for no real reason at all, is poor form indeed. You may as well not even have GOTY deliberations, if you're not going to give each member's favourite games a fair shake.

I've heard vis-a-vis from game journos way too fucking much in the last year. I love how they all seem to hang on something weird like that and it spreads through the entire group of them in such a small amount of time.

They are down playing what Guild Wars 2 brings to the table for "MMOs".

It isn't just another game that is trying to be WoW.

They were talking about the burners who go through a game in 30-90 days and move onto the next. The context was pretty clear to me.
