hmm was expecting a better game.well no matter didn't plan on getting it anyway.

Sequel to an ugly, ugly game. Rental indeed.

Damn, that's a little too short for my taste. I guess rental it is. I'm glad the game at least looks great in motion.

The questions will always come up.. IS Jeff biased toward this game series?  I haven't seen the video yet, but my gut response to the score is to think along these lines.  From what I can assume from Jeff, he is neutral when it comes to games and gives everyone a fair shot.  But there will always be people out there who will claim that Jeff is being biased.

 I like the style at least. As a medium games don't approach this kind of thing very often. I suppose its because the technology has yet to plateau.

Great review Jeff. Very informative. I might pick this up when its really cheap as I don't really rent games.

Loved the editing in this review (and Jeff's somewhat indirect acknowledgement of the site's obsession with his particular connection with the first game - let's move on indeed). 
 
Shame about the game though - had been looking forward to this one. The visuals/story held so much promise.

Great review style! Plus the bits where the game froze on the 360 looked pretty cool, though I'm sure it'll becoming annoying very soon after every kill.

Good review, can't say I was too surprised, the demo was pretty underwhelming in my opinion.

And I expected that this game will have an interesting and long story.What a shame.

Like Jeff I really like the visual style and Fragile Alliance was really fun in the first game. Shame about the awful glitch in the 360 version. Might rent this once they release a patch to fix up the game.

I think I'll probably get this out of the bargain bin in a couple of years.

This is what I cal some damn good reviewing.  First of all, though I wasn't expecting him to, Jeff wasn't bitter about what happened after reviewing the last game, that's good. Secondly, he gives an honest review, saying what's good about the game and what's bad, which is exactly what people want to hear. Way too often when others review sequels to somewhat bad games, half of the time is spent talking about the last game.

Jeff genuinely seemed excited by this but the bugs, length and gameplay seem to hamper its cool visual style.

Very good and clever review there Gerstmann, love what you did with the camera. it gave me a few good lulz as well.

4 hours for a full price game? That's 15 bucks an hour.  Buying this would be insane.

There is no way that those 360 problems don't get patched, but how do you even release it like that?

Kind of disappointed. The visual style sold me, when they did the Quick Look. But 4 hours? Come on! They had an interesting premise on there hands. A bit sad to see, that it turned out this way.

Why no love for the PC?

That was ... actually, exactly what I had expected after playing the demo. It's really visually impressive, I loved all the little effects (and I didn't think I would) but when you get down to it, it's just a standard cover-based third person shooter. Not especially exciting. That is criminally little playtime as well.

I know this will fall on deaf ears, but – the overabundance of these "you're fired" jokes are fucking lame. Stop. Please. 
 
I was really excited about this game and had hopes that this sequel would improve the franchise like AC2 did for its predecessor...but what a bummer.  Great review, Jeff.

so beside showing how a cloverfield game could work, not worth my time. i'll just watch a playthrough on youtube and get the visual flair that way.

It's amazing how it was nearly three years ago when all this shit started. Think about it, without Kane and Lynch, there would be no Giantbomb, no Quick Looks, no Endurance Run, no Bombcast as crazy as it could be, no memes, probably no Screened.com, no mass exodus from Gamespot. Makes you wonder.

4 hour long single player? that is weak.
