I missed out on the original, simply because I don't use my PSP, might go download this right now though

probably won't make me dust off my psp but its good to see some good games coming for the platform.

Maybe one day I'll get a PSP.

I really didn't like the original...the music was just annoying to me and well in a music focused game that can really wreck the entire experience.  Besides that though I just didn't enjoy the controls, didn't seem responsive, not sure if it was my PSP or the game itself but I just couldn't seem to get any sort of beat going for an extended period.  Maybe I'll dust off that game...and my PSP some day and try it again.

PSP seems to be full of original and "almost makes me by the psp" games. But Im not buing it when I already have a DS. Heres hoping crush (and this) will come to the ds.

I can see why this game appeals to so many people. It's just not for me.

I played the demo and it rocks! I hope all games become downloads so that the psp will have a longer battery life. Might pick this and Logan's Shadow up before the summer.

Hmm, I'll probably just go back and revisit the original sometime. Never did really get into it.

The ending was awesome. I don't have any portable systems, but if I did, this looks like a title I may consider. Good review.

I don't like saying this, but I have my doubts to whether or not Ryan finished the game. The game play video was from very early in the game with only a single unit upgrade. I know you're not suppose to spoil anything in video reviews, but these screens just made it look like Patapon original. I think Ryan picked this up played for one or two hours and went - "Yep, it's still Patapon! Don't want this beat stuck in my head for the next 3 weeks" and then went to play the Fallout 3 DLC.

I'm in Europe so I've had the game for 2 weeks now and it surpasses the original. I'm guessing it might be like with Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise - more of everything you loved about the original.

This has way more strategy than the first one. And you can micro manage the hell out of your troops before battle.

I'm interested to see if this triggers a new distribution model on the psp, and if the rumors of psp go! are to be believed, it just might. No better way to open the digital flood gates than with the  harmonious chants of PATA PATA PATA PON.

I never really liked the original all that much, and this seems like more of the same, so I'll pass. I just didn't enjoy the gameplay all that much, and I think part of it had to do with the fact that I had no direct control over my guys. The way the rhythm controls worked were kind of loose (I couldn't get my guys to move just to this spot; they would take a vague few steps forward, instead). Couldn't get on with it.

This makes me remember that I havn't touched my PSP in years. Too bad i only have 32mb card cause I would like to download this game.

I hope the PSP redesign they're announcing at E3 is significant so that I can get back into the system.

Hey, I think it's super that you like the game, and I'm very excited about an upcoming UMD-free PSP, but I have one problem: why is this the same price as the first game on UMD? Since Sony doesn't have to worry about making UMD copies, shipping them to retail, advertising in retail, and ensuring that they'll never experience a loss from the second-hand market, shouldn't those savings be at least partially passed on to the consumer?
