Quick Look: ArmA II

I knew there were dying constantly from the get-go. OpFl and ArmA are truly unforgiving games.
Can't wait for OpFl 2!

People are forgetting that ARMA2 isn't as such a game.. it's a toolbox for people interested in simulated warfare.. ( and thus certainly not for everybody! )

The only game flaw this Quick Look pointed out to me was that the voice comm system they used was ass. You could tell that that was all Jeff had to joke around with. But eh, OFP had the same thing.

I love ARMA2. When I upgrade my PC I'm going to invest in some head tracking software and really get into it. As the video makes apparent, this is not Call of Duty 4. If you don't think you will die fast. You absolutly have to find cover, have to listen to your squad leader, have to move slowly, have to stay silent etc etc

E; one more thing. The devs decided to keep the broken style of voice because it was kind of an icon of Operation Flashpoint. If you play a clip of the voice acting from that game anyone who played it will instantly identify it. It's just a symbol and that's why they kept it, even if it isn't the best

I think you should do a 'proper' quick look of some of the other parts of the game, and not just the first mission

Do an endurance quick look! There's so much to see and do. Do a feature on the mission editor or something!

Nice quick look..... the game isn't that hard tbh,but if you try to play it like cod4 then you will get killed over and over,this game is a nice change of pace for me,from the numerous corridor shooters on the 360.

It reminds me of Socom on the ps2,which is one of my all time favourite games series.

Oh dude, I played the demo of this and quit/deleted after about 5 minutes of Weird, Ass, Voices, Speaking, One, Word, At, A, Two, Enemy, Two, Five, Fire, One, One.

I think better voices could've been done with a webcam mic and a day with any audio editing software.

I enjoyed Operation Flashpoint and the first ArmA, maybe I'll try this out.

I like the fact that the word "hardcore" was not used in making this video.

On everything for everyone, I blame it on the makers of the game. They need to polish their products, which is not the same thing as making them in Poland... in case they get a cray idea or something... I mean they are close enough to Poland to do it...

Darnet if only they were based in Poland, it would have been the best pun ever!!!! LOL

I recommend watching the Arma 2 developer's diary at their main site, I haven't watched it yet and I've never played any of the games that this developer has ever made, so this recommendation is actually just a suggestion.

i played the demo, and it was kinda buggy/wierd/over realistic. i would stay away from this one

this looked laggy as shit for me, but the audio was fine. im not sure if it was my computers fault or what. 

I had to pause the video at "YOU-GOT-KNOCKED-THE-EFF-DOWN" because I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. I doubt I'm ever gonna get this game, but I'm so glad I watched this quick look.

Wow, we played ArmA in Ft. Lewis before we deployed to Iraq for convoy training. Yeah, the biggest buyer is the US Army... and yes we do say enemy man so we don't light up the wrong people.

it feels liek it's jerking a lot.. but all sounds were fine...  that jerky-ness makes me feel sick espeically when he's zoomed in...  every 1 second or so...

Since I love OP FLash I will buy this.  I also loved to play OP Flash Elite on the xbox. There was a small following that led me into organizing groups via gamespot forums.

It would be cool if the game and head tracker tech were compatible with tv glasses, like the MyVue ones.
Then you wouldn't have to constantly turn your head and keep your eyes on the monitor at the same time.
That would be like.... virtual reality... and absolutely crazy!

No, but for seriously, that game looks mad involved and technically technical.

Tried the demo, in fact it is still installed on the desktop at home, i wanted to love it, i gave it plenty of chances, but it just feels unfinished, i saw it heavily discounted a week after release, its a shame really, but i ended up preordering operation flashpoint 2 on the 360 instead of buying this on the PC
