I woke up way too early for no reason and decided to see if the dlc was there but it wasn't, hopefully this will keep me happy until it's available.

The Zombie Island of Dr Ned is the only DLC that doesn't really... fit anywhere. The other three, however, are referenced across Borderlands 2 and while some of the stuff probably isn't completely entwined (like how you essentially face against every end boss at the end of Robot Revolution), the major events like General Knoxx, Hyperion hiring the previous vault hunters to eradicate all of the claptraps, moxxi's underdome (and they even worked in a 'canon' victor, being Mordecai) are all most definitely considered canon.

...And this is what's impressed me about Borderlands 2. The better story (or rather the fact that there is a story) and better fleshed out characters has lead to me actually caring about the fiction. O_o

I have that problem Brad. I think it must be an issue with the PC driver, unless you're getting it on Xbox too.

Other than that, Brad's description in the end kinda fits this game. It's Morederlands. Which is fine, I guess. Still going to wait on the GOTY edition

@Hurricrane: Ryan can be known to sit on a menu and talk about many systems of a game before touching a controller as well.

Also Ryan uses a controller so loudly I can hear it from where I live (I live in Canada).

@Aishan: You obviously don't listen to the site's podcast, or didn't watch the quick look for this game. Jeff has said many times this is 'more' borderlands and since he spent a lot of time with the first game and all it's dlc... it's a bit much. I tend to agree, while I prolly spent more time with this game than with the first I still did spend a good 30 hours with that first game and most of it's dlc, and all of this time in borderlands has mushed it all together into something that blurs into a big mess that just doesn't stop yelling at you with references and busy visuals, and so many fucking chests to wait and open.

If I remember right, I think they do reference Zombie Island DLC in this one

This is exactly what i needed to jump back into Borderlands 2. New enemies look sweet (especially those buccaneers) and to have something to use all that sweet sweet orange lvl 50 gear I've farmed.

I encountered the giltch that wipes all of your badass rank and stat bonuses. It really fucking sucks, makes me want to avoid the game entirely (which I've done, thanks to XCOM). So disheartening to lose all that progress.

Those guns are terrible.

Looks really boring. I didn't even complete the first game I got so bored with it. It just didn't work for me.

He was referring to the Xbox version, so yes. I also get that weird control issue on PC.

Awesome, I just finished my second playthrough and now that I've clocked 97 hours into BL2 in total as all of the 5 classes, it's great to roll into some DLC. 
 
Such a crazy good game.

So... not having the dlc pass and not having the new character and not intending to spend more on this game less than a month after it came out, my ability to play online co-op is probably dead or gravely wounded at this point, right? Or is the matchmaking capable of dealing with it?

I haven't encountered a Zombie Island reference in Borderlands 2 yet (haven't heard every echo), but I did encounter references for the other DLC. Moxxi and her Underdome are fairly straightforward with her existence being canon and the missions involving getting revenge on Jack for getting rid of it. For Claptrap Revolution I found an echo that had Dr. Zed talking about the Claptrap revolution. Knoxx is directly referenced by Roland as he tries to recruit the former Crimson Lance into his team because Knoxx is dead.

I've played around 2 hours of the DLC and I'm really digging it. The little hover ship actually makes driving enjoyable.

What a boring looking DLC, can't believe I played so much Borderlands, I am completely avoiding this game.

Seems like Jeff picks the most boring, vanilla way to play games.. Its like he wants everything to just be a generic Gears of War type shooter.

So I've decided to wit for the Game of the Year version of Borderlands 2, that way I get all the goodies at the same time without spending more than the price for the game
