Yup, why can't our allies ever capitalize on our gains? First it was Vimy Ridge, and then this. "
Here here. Happening with Afghanistan now as well.

I played this game and the expansion when they were new and they were awesome. Even the online was great but they screwed the online up so bad in CoD 2 and I much prefer the original out of the WW II CoDs.

I'm surprised. The first Call of Duty game I played was 'Finest Hour'. I always thought that was the first game in the series. I don't play many PC games anymore because I got tired of buying upgrades all the time.
Looks great. I love all of the CoD games I've played.

Hard to believe but I can imagine MW2 being called outdated in the next ten years or so. Enjoy the now, ya know?

Shame on you playing CoD on console. I bet there was running and grenade throwing in CoD on PC.

I think this game is too dated to actually be playable... I probably wouldn't play it again at this point.

COD1 and United Offense were the best COD's of the franchise for multiplayer. It's hard to consider MW or any new COD's anything but a new game.

Anyhow, ahh nostalgia.

I've often felt that it's just been completely overlooked and ignored by most of todays gamers. "
What are you talking about? UO was the best game in the series, and best MP experience of this decade.  Everything that IW gets credit for, can be traced back to UO....

Yes, it has aged.... but they are playing on a very low difficulty and it's one of the first levels. Also the PC version had some great tactical mods that made the game much more intense.

It had enough content to be considered a game... A 4-6 campaign (same as MW2), new guns, new MP maps, new features (leveling system, sprint, specialty grenades, vehicles and an advanced health system) and the game had a strong competitive and mod community.  It may have been a $30 expansion pack but it had more depth than any shooter that has come out in the last 5 years.

I'm like half the reviewer's age and even I know that this game came out in 2003, and not in 1999/2000. Pretty far off with that one guys. Game is closer to HL2 than HL, even though HL2 really was a landmark in gaming so that's why it seems like it's closer to the original HL.

EDIT: And lol @ the kids thinking this is too old to be playable. Sad kids.

@eagle: Sprinting wasn't in the CoD games until CoD 3, same thing with grenade throwbacks.

I know right? The game hasn't aged poorly,  it is just that games currently being made have just been simplified or streamlined to an extent.

This game came out in 2003 and then won 20 game of the year awards.
I loved how the multiplayer didnt have perks, and it was mostly about your mastery of the weapons and shooting guys.

When this game came out, it was pretty obvious that it had blatantly ripped off what Medal Of Honor had just done, which was essentially turn Saving Private Ryan into a video game.
