The game doesn't look terrible, actually. Except for that incredibly mundane boss fight... I might keep my eyes on this game for future reference.

So when did Alex start working at Giant Bomb?  I've never cared for his asshole demeanor and was glad to see him go.  Now he's back at screened where I don't have to hear him, but yet he still manages to sneak into Giant Bomb content now.

Okay...is no one else gonna say it? I'm gonna have to be the one to say it? Okay fine...here it goes...FUCK TRAVERSAL! Is it just me or is hanging on things and swinging on things and climbing things getting sooooooo old. Its the same stupid shit that every game seems to have these days and it is just getting boring. It would be different if games actually evolved the concept and made it different, but no, everything is the same in every game that has it. I dont know about you people but I am sick and tired of needlessly having to climb around stuff for no apparent reason except for the simple purpose of needing to put something else in the game for the player to do. 
 
There, I got it all out. I feel better now. Other than that little rant though, this game actually looks okay, I might check it out through gamefly.

I don't exactly share in your fervor, but yeah, unless it's really original it should just be worked around. 
 
For example, this game has the transversal elements of maybe Tomb Raider III, in 2010. How is that acceptable?

I was expecting this game to be in the Metriodvania style as opposed to a linear action-adventure game, still looks pretty cool though.

Been having a lot of fun with this game. The camera transitions could be smoother and I wish dodge and block were not tied to the same button. It is really hard to just block without doing a roll instead, so it becomes really hard to pull off counters.

I do believe that I will go for Enslaved rather than this. This seems really...slowly paced.

I totally agree that 'traversal' needs to die.  There is nothing interesting about hanging from a ledge and shimmeying anymore.  If you're going to do it make the character ridiculously move just as fast as they normally do, who cares if it looks weird, the current state of agonizing slowness is totally anti-game.

But I kind of agree with DoctorWelsh in a way. As much as I still love Traversal gameplay it's tiring to see how many games are feeling the need to include it.
 
Reminds me of QTEs, post God of War

I agree somewhat. I don't think that the traversal mechanic needs to die, it just needs to be refined. In enslaved, it's very quick, so it never really gets too annoying. Considering that the animation in that game is very deliberate and frame heavy, it speaks a lot to the nature of pacing. Here, it just seems slovenly and the combat seems...well, really easy. This is all said without playing the game, but this feels like 30 different game types when you only needed one. Considering Kojima is involved, it may be a "too many cooks..." problem.

Well, in Enslaved there is also absolutely NO challenge involved and it's always one path. At least in LoS, traversal has a purpose. What's the point of traversal in Enslaved? It's basically a cutscene, in which you cannot die and just have to press a button over and over again.

I played it for 5 hours and just finished chapter 2. Also, replayability is huge since you have to go back to find secrets you can't reach the first time you go through (need certain abilities). Furthermore a challenge is unlocked for each sub-chapter once you've played it (for example: "don't use magic", "kill x enemies with their own bombs" etc).

But this looks the same. From what's been shown in the quicklook, traversal serves the same purpose: a method of making it across the world, with occasional pockets to in which to hide collectables. Though, you are right; in Enslaved, the traversal does serve to support the story, but it sort of needs to considering there are only 3 voiced characters.

I just think in games that rely on this mechanic, it has to serve more purpose than to get the character from A to B. Enslaved does that, this...doesn't really seem to. But even beyond traversal, just moving across the area seems slow due to pretty much needless environmental hazards. Why are the hands in the swamp there? Their only purpose seems to break the fairly quick pacing of combat. That's a narrative/gameplay no no because it makes you lose interest.

From initial impressions, this game doesn't seem to have one particular focus, which is kind of a huge problem. Plus it doesn't look at that good, but it seems the PS3 was the lead platform, so it may look better there. Just...doesn't make a good first impression.

I saw Patrick Stewart play Othello in DC. He was amazing. Clearly has a knack for the stage and Shakespeare. 
 
During the intermission, the ENTIRE audience was talking about Star Trek. I heard multiple instances of, "There are FOUR lights!"
