I like when they inadvertently say the words "quick look" in the middle of a Quick Look.

Great game for a Quick Look!

I remember playing this with my sister's boyfriend in the arcade... I pushed him off the track and made him crash into a wall. I've always felt guilty about that.

@RoyCampbell: I dunno, when you compare it to other 800 point games, even (or especially) other re-releases, it doesn't compare. Beyond Good and Evil HD and Guardian Heroes HD are both 800 points for example.

Ryan sucks at Daytona. Hitting walls? NOOB, how are you going to beat your fastest lap if your hitting walls?

Also Scud Race was the shit and so was Touring Car Championship. I hope they do a pure port of Sega Rally next.

I just played this and Daytona USA on the Dreamcast blows this version away and still holds up today...especially if you play with a VGA cable so you can get 480p. It's really not even close. The graphics on Dreamcast are xbox quality and the music was specially arranged for that version and sounds way better than either the original or arranged track on this HD port. Go hunt a dreamcast down and play it. Dreamcast is the only precurrent gen console I still own.

If you were alive in the 90s and visited an arcade it was impossible to not hear Daytona's arcade machine blaring out its soundtrack.

Can anyone remind me what actually happens when you get three 7s on that fruit machine thing on beginner track? Or why the statue of Jeffry from VF sometimes stands on his head?

Strange things happen in Daytona world and I love them all, the game is excellent, and I feel old now...

I used to love playing this in arcades. I do remember it was way more expensive than your typical arcade game at the time which was kind of a bummer.

Man Ryan dude. You suck at Daytona. The controls in Daytona are actually quite awesome. Also, grip is probably tire wear and isn't available in the arcade mode. There's actually a pit road on all the tracks. But yea, you're right. The arcade version of Daytona has not aged very well.

I came for the Daytona, I stayed for the Karaoke.

I could swear that Ryan was talking a bit of trash about this game like he hated it, yet he seemed to know how to handle the car. Could he be denying his love for this game? :)
