Wow, this was good because they didn't hate on Dynasty Warriors as a whole...but i do hate the Gundam games.

ya...that actually made Dynasty Warriors look good.  200 hundred robots standing around with guns and never shooting will never make sense.

Oh man, I tried playing this game last night but I fell asleep while playing.

Also, the game looks horrid.  I have a 52" lcd tv and it looked just like a ps2 game.

As someone who owns lots of these models there is no way that your model would melt from just being close to a candle.  The plastic used in these things are made so that they can withstand quite a bit of heat before reacting.

The only thing I can think of is if you used some non-water based paint.  Enamel paints are know for being very, very easily set on fire (happened to me once).

Yeah i think that is soley down to the fact it's also on PS2, so they do a real lazy job of improving the graphics for this generation.

Yes, G Gundam was one of the best Gundam Series.  It was fun, over the top and not tied down with all the political B.S. that the series is know for.

G Gundam was pretty rad and ridiculous, but I sure did love Endless Waltz.

The voice actor for Bright sounds like the voice actor for Dojima in persona4.

Man, so boring ... the game not the Quick Look.

Are the enemies not shooting because of the easy difficulty level?  It just looks weird they're just standing there waiting to be diced.

This game looks boring as HELL.

So, what I liked about the Dynasty Warriors I played:

When in co-op I had some of the funnest battles I've ever had in side-by-side co-op.  My friend and I powered through armies, picking up weird items, all while chasing down a general who was whipping our armies.  We decided to run in and take the guy down.  We had him surrounded, beating the crap out of him, but our own health was low.  Just when it looked like we were going to bite it we caught him in a combo and took him down.  That victory was sweet.

I liked in...  3 I think it was, that the items had stats, so you could pick one up and discard an older one if it gave you more interesting bonuses.  I also liked finding random item boxes and getting interesting add-ons for later levels.  I liked exploring levels and finding hidden events, and I liked it when the mobs actually fought back.

It seems that the mobs are getting dumber.  I don't know why that is, maybe it's not true, but now they seem like they're just staring at you, which to me is kinda sad. 

I think DW has squandered potential, and it seems the real reason DW has had such a bad reputation isn't so much its mediocre brawlerness, but its inability to innovate despite its popularity... or maybe because of its popularity.  If they could actually combine the strategy elements they have in the kingdom-type games with the basic game, plus making mission trees (like old Wing Commander did, where you can still sorta win despite losing some major battles), plus, yes, more dynamic combat (it's two buttons, not just one now), maybe it'd be a bit more lively.  Anyone else wanna step up?

So uh... I guess George Lucas doesn't care about people in Japan ripping off his Star Wars stuff? Cause aren't those light sabers the Gundams are using? Isn't that what it is, an energy sword type of weapon? Did Gundam pay for the rights to use light sabers from Star Wars? I kinda doubt it.

Wow dude, what is the point? Why would you send hundreds upon hundreds of... your mecha troops if they're just gonna stand around, not shoot back, and get slaughtered by this Gundam piloted by a 15 year old boy? Why would you ever do that? How do you plan on winning the Zeon-or-whatever-the-fuck-it's-called cause if you just make hundreds upon hundreds of paper mache mecha that stand around and do absolutely fucking nothing and get killed by one guy with a light saber that he stole from a Jedi and upscaled?

And how is that fun to play? It didn't look fun to play at all. What's the point? I couldn't even tell if Jeff took any damage at all. He just seems to jet around wiping out entire armies of enemy Gundam with his light saber, occasionally using a rocket launcher that hilariously just appeared out of nowhere on his arm, and then vanished as soon as he finished firing. Where the fuck did that magical rocket launcher go? Nobody knows.

And why does the hero's Gundam look like a giant robot stylized in samurai armor? If it's the future, why would the giant robot have to look that way? Some scientists finally made the breakthrough that allowed giant mechs to be a reality, and they all gathered around and decided that the samurai armor look was the obvious way to go? I mean, they've got that samurai crest sorta spikey thing on top of the helmet, there's the actual helmet... and then you've got the two weird notches in the nose and the giant red clit for a chin. Why would you have these two random notches in the nose area? What does that do? And why a red chin? Why do Gundam always have that red chin that protrudes down? What technology requires a red chin that sorta pokes out of the face of the mech? And what's up with the shield? It doesn't cover much of the giant robot, it doesn't seem to be used at all... what's it doing? Why is there a giant star on the side of it? Does the giant yellow star provide some sort of technological boost?

How come the hero of these weird Gundam animes is always some 14 or 15 year old boy? How does that make any sense? Why would you draft 15 year old boys into your army and allow them to pilot your best vehicles? That doesn't make any sense. We don't let 15 year old boys fly F22 Raptors. It's stupid. Although, at least in what I could see of this game, the 15 year old protagonist wasn't an effeminate-looking boy. Ya know, so many of these anime protagonists are rather effeminate. Kinda gender-confused. So that's a little different from other animes. He just has some weirdass hair.

I thought it was pretty damn funny how getting knocked down in space is just like getting knocked down on the ground. Space combat was facepalm x 100

So... their ship is called White Base? First of all, that is a really weak name. Why would anyone name anything White Base? That's the blandest fucking name ever. And furthermore, it's not even a base, it's a ship. Why would a ship be called White Base? I guess the ship is white, but shouldn't you call it something interesting and naval, like Enterprise or Excelsior? Why call it a White Base? A base is usually some sort of building on the ground. Even if it was a building, nobody in their right mind would just name it White Base. To call a giant battleship White Base is staggeringly unimaginative and lame.

Rambal Ral? Amuro Ray? Fraw? Who the hell came up with these names? Why would anyone think to name characters like this? How can you take anything seriously when you see that their name is Rambal Ral? Wtf?

What is the point of legs on the Gundam if they just float a few feet above the ground like that? Why would you need locomotion by means of legs when you're just gliding around super fast everywhere? What's the point? And how come you're unable to actually, uh... fly up in the air? The jets somehow only provide enough thrust to just float a foot above ground and glide around really fast, but flying is a no go? Not even a super jump? Jumping is only allowed in space? Heh.

I don't think this Xbox 360 game you mentioned exists, unless you're referring to the Operation: Troy, which hasn't come out in North America.

LOL nice Rant dude, its best not to question those things as its set in that universe.  Who knows? maybe those notches are special heat sinks? I mean the Hatamoto Chi mech looks like a samurai in the mechwarrior universe.

As much as I tried to filter out the horrid"ness" of this game.... I just couldn't get past knowing that the point of the game was to "mash x and the occasional y button"... You guys did make it enjoyable to watch though

It sounds like Vinny and Jeff are U.C. Gundam purists.  Ah well, their loss for missing out on X Gundam and Turn A.

I don't understand why only the crappy gundam games are being localized and not any of the good ones  (ie. federation vs zaft or gundam vs gundam)

I don't like Gundam or Dynasty Warriors but in this game's defense, the enemies didn't attack because Jeff was playing on Easy. If you couldn't tell, the game is really easy on Easy. Even Ninja Gaiden 2 is easy on Easy or The Way of the Dog (?). If it's like DW, you'll unlock two harder difficulties after Hard, which are pretty hard from what I've heard.

The graphics may not look good but the field of depth is much much better than the PS2 games. I think they made the right choice because I'd rather have a great field of depth than more polygons and guys popping in.

Also, I think Jeff's right. Those who are into DW might not be into this game.

Interesting QL, but I would like to see some multiplayer portion. I mean, the QL is 25 min long, you could have spared 5 min of tedious slashing and showed some modes. :)

That's a lot of mechs! but I wish there were better mech based games because most of them are trash.

but for the guys who do like it and see it as more then just mashing x (and allso not the story) go right ahead

Too bad.I only watched a season of 00 and a slight piece of SEED.Not a giant robot sorta guy minus Gurren Legann.They should totally make a Gurren Legann game.Giant Robot duels,Sniper stealth missions with the red head chick and Drill Key turning minigames on the Wii.Fuck yeah.

I remember when Gundam Wing would come on at like 5:30 and two episodes of DBZ at 6:00, man I wish it was still 2000.

That game looks super easy. You are out numbered 100 to 1 but they all just sit there and watch their buddies die.

You need to be Japanese or a crazy person to get these Dynasty Warriors. Samurai Warriors et'c games. I bought 99 Nights a few years ago, not very good. Die at the end of the last boss, replay like 45min and loose everything. These kind games need checkpoints! Not that they are very fun to play.

I know of people who love them though and can play every game that comanes out, I guess many of our FPS games seem the same to them.

My only Gundam experience is Gundam Wing, this isn't Gundam Wing so I'll have to pass!

These games are garbage but I do enjoy them. I get some weird sense of satisfaction roaming around a level and just killing everything I see.
