Now I will watch this!

I'm excited for EO3.  I haven't played the series, but Strange Journey got me interested in that type of game style, and since being Atlus EO 1 and 2 are super hard to find new, I'll just jump in with the latest and (hopefully) greatest.

Odd, this is coming out in September and they already have a pretty much finished build? Is Atlus handcrafting those DS cartridges or something? ;) 
 
@Disgaeamad: Not really, I think. Etrian Odyssey is a terribly hard game to get into. Keeping track of Skills, class mechanics, mapping and "supplies" (never leave town without a Warpwire!), quests and missions... And Matt's lucky he hasn't run into a FOE yet. 
On the other hand, the sense of accomplishment you get of besting a Stratum / Boss here is great.

This game looks and plays exactly the same as the second game.

Ryan will ruin EVERYONE's Quick Look on EVERY birthday! ...and you'll all love it.

Ugh, I totally hate random encounters nowadays. Even the super traditional Dragon Quest IX left those behind, and it made the game so much more enjoyable.

This is basically a nicer looking, more JRPGish version of The Dark Spire. I'm guessing if I pick up EO 1 or 2 on the cheap it's the same exact game?
