This is the sort of abstract design I want to see more of in the future. Definitely picking this up when I get paid tomorrow. $15 seems like a steal for this.

Wowowow. This is my kind of game. Unfortunately, I doubt it will be able to run on my laptop.

Cool idea, but not sure why Brad was creaming his pants at the beginning.

Also, are those colored triangles a symbol in audio? Because its nearly exactly the same thing that shows up in Sword and Sorcery.

There has to be a drum machine in there somewhere, and I bet those drum puzzles are the sickest. For whatever reason, getting music as a reward for successful puzzle solving tickles me in all the right places.

God damnit, why are the videos always broken for me? They either don't load at all, or they start for a few seconds and stop. It's driving me nuts!

Oh, it's more expensive on Steam in the EU, 13.49€, or $18.61, but the GOG price is the same everywhere.

Well, I went from really wanting this game at the beginning of the Quick Look to being disinterested by the end. Abstract puzzles are often much too frustrating for my liking. They can be fun to puzzle out, for awhile, but eventually I get sent into a blind rage when it seems to clunky or indecipherable. This game seems to go over that line too often for my liking.

Am of the same mindset but after playing for 2 hours straight, I don't feel that way. In fact, the way it 'devolves' into more generic puzzles (in a weirdly similar Bioshock minigame sort of way) helps alleviate a lot of that concern.

I stopped playing due to hitting a brick wall but, since there's 3 areas open to explore from the start, I might just make my way back to the 2 I haven't seen yet.

Their abstractions for the LFO, filters, mixers, arpeggiators, patch bays, and sequencers are really cool. This looks like a must have game.

Games are always more expensive on Steam, at least in most EU regions. That's why you don't buy your games on Steam. You buy them directly from the developer, humblestore, GoG or wherever else you can pay in (cheap) dollars and get a Steam-key, to unlock it for your Steam library.

To the people complaining about the game being "too abstract": It only looks abstract at first sight, most if not everything inside the games world is working by pretty logical rules, once you understand what's happening. What might look "abstract" on first sight actually ends up teaching you quite a lot about how synthesizers and music making work.

In that regard the game is actually quite educational and surprising, because there is way more hidden in there than just "open world Tron".

Wait, is @brad also color-blind, or does he think that chartreuse is a shade of pink? (1:53)

Perhaps he meant cerise?

I was wondering if anyone else noticed that. Maybe he was thinking fuschia.

I played this from start to finish as soon as it was out on Steam. Yes, most of the puzzles were pretty generic, but I feel like it's totally worth it once you complete the final puzzle for an area. They're on a much larger scale, and the animations on them are amazing.

There's a more advanced version of the studio to unlock by finishing the game (or you can unlock the whole studio at once from the menu). It has much more control over each synth, and it does include drums, but only in preset loops. There are 16 for beats and 16 for hihats/cymbals/whatever. I don't like most of the drum loops though.

I'm a little upset that the step sequencer is still locked into a pentatonic scale even in the advanced studio. I guess they're afraid of letting people who don't know what they're doing make music that sounds bad.

That said, I still really enjoyed the game, despite the puzzles being somewhat boring, and the fact that it only took me 5 hours to beat. It looks and sounds gorgeous for the most part, and I'd love to see it support VR.
