Quick Look: Gears of War 3: Raam's Shadow

kind of excited to play this...

Not intrested to actually play this since im not into gears but should be fun to watch

I'm halfway through this add-on and I found it much more engaging and exciting than the entire Gears 3 campaign. I think the big city environments are more interesting to have the combat take place in, instead of boring deserts and caves. It brings back good memories of Gears 1 that has been lacking from the series for a while.

…not until you play RAAM’s shadow. This new DLC is so kickass. Like, could General RAAM get any cooler? Could General RAAM be any more of a BAMF? I don’t think so. AND GOD DAMN THOSE TREMORS ARE SO COOL. I’m really hoping for Epic to make the Seeders, Tremors, RAAM, and Zeta Squad all available in Horde mode or… or BEAST MODE OMG. QAQ Gonna be so awesome!

The 2GB of raw awesome have been downloaded and I’m on my way to ripping people apart with swarms of Kryll.

They missed the best part about playing as Raam; when dudes are down on the ground you can CUT OFF THEIR FUCKIN HEADS.

@Jeff what exactly do you want with promotional content? It's not like it's asking you to go to a website and link your Facebook account or some shit. It's a free gun skin you get for playing through the campaign on insane. Would you rather be paying for it?

I still haven't played Gears 3 but this looks great.

Best DLC of the year.

Always like the DLC that adds to the storylines by showing different angles of the whole thing rather than the ones that are disconnected from the story.

Every time the Y prompt came up I was hoping Jeff would show RAAM's execution where he just picks up a guy with one hand and cuts off his head. I just wanted to hear Jeff and Ryan's reaction of either laughter or Jeff saying something like - "Well, that's not good for ya!"

Looks interesting, this QL just made this dlc a very tempting purchase. I took a bit of a break after Gears and I feel good and ready to jump back into that universe. Just out of interest, does anyone who has this know who the 2nd onwards players play as during the RAAM sections? I presume this can be played co-op and I was wondering if the other players assumed the roles of the maul wielding locasts.

the part where you play as raam seems like the part in star wars the force unleashed where you play as vader meaning you are a badass fucking dudes up.

i thought kryll hated light? there was an entire section based around that in gears 1.
