Quick Look: LittleBigPlanet 2

Meh. The creation tools are decent, I suppose, but if you have no interest in building levels, this is pretty much just a collection of middling-at-best mini-games.

When you are browsing community levels there is a filter option that lets you just see the LBP2 levels...

THis so made me go out and buy this game.

If it wasn't coming  out at the same time as mass effect 2 I'd have it now, but it'll have to wait a while I guess

i liked little big dead space

Looks good. The platforming might not please everyone, but the toolset and features will draw in the creative folks. Sadly, I am not a creative person, in a visual or artistic sense.

Looks good, but so did the first game at first.  LBP1 became old very quickly :(

That Dead Space level has been in LBP1 for quite some time. Still awesome though.

lol.. While playing, and talking about, a level made a long time ago ago and in the first LBP (Dead Space)

Was meaning to pick this up after missing out on the first LBP. This'll be great fun for the family, might pick up a 3rd controller for it as well

Little dead space was from LBP 1. I played it a few times. The level does not have a lighting tool but just a light at the start dude. Their knowledge of the first game is super lacking.

got the game.  Only played 2 user levels that I thought were any good.  Need more good levels.  A lot of the stuff seems like concepts.  Like an RPG game was really short and awesome but not really a full level yet.  There was also an 8bit Mario level that was just a square but the concept was awesome. 
 
The singleplayer is really fun tho.  I like the hat that shoots out anything you want....like cake.
 
As for the MP..i got the weird looping LOAD screen as well.  Kept trying to Load something and it would do nothing.  Been fine other than that.

I'm actually quite surprised at the scope of what you can build and the amount of genres you can delve into. This seems more like the LBP that would interest me if I had a PS3.

ARGH!! Please, guys, PLEASEstart showing the content creation in games that are entire about content creation! Come on, man. I think you did the same thing in Mod Nation Racers. It's like half the game, at least, and you didn't show it at all! I know that some of you guys aren't into it and just play the stuff other people make, but we'd like to at least get a minute or two of what it looks like. Please. Heck, I'll be disappointed if you guys don't make a second video, even if it's only 5 minutes long, showing off what these crazy new tools that let you make shooters and racing games and all these new things. 
 
The Titanic level was neat, but honestly, 20 minutes on a level that looks like something that could have easily come out of LBP1 is just silly. What does the racing look like, or, again, /any/ of the tools? Maybe the music tool? Please do another video, you guys are my favorite site and I love your coverage. I love the way that you guys cover things you're interested in, and I know the consequence of that is that if our interests don't overlap then you won't always show exactly what I want, but to show LBP2 and not show a single second of any of the tools... just... I don't even know :(.

Was that Braid music on the Titanic at around 41 ?

The Dead Space and Titanic levels were crazy, and they were built using LBP1?  I can't imagine what some people will have come up with in a year or so's time with LBP2.  Getting my copy tomorrow, can't wait!

That blast radius game looked awesome, amongst all the other awesome stuff.  Can't get mine from Amazon soon enough

Looks like a lot of fun.  I am going to rent it before I buy it though because I picked up the original day-one and it didn't really appeal to me.  Too floaty and difficult to manage.  Also, since I tried out mostly platformers I was not impressed.  However this appears to have more variety.  I'll definitely take a look at it later. 
 
And, "A 5th of Beethoven"!  Get up on that dance floor.

Is it just me or do the visuals look quite a bit better than in the first LBP.

They completely missed the Titanic level ending. They're obviously dead and in heaven. DUH!

The racing game level im sure had metal gear solid 2 boss music.

Also, that Dead Space level was quite impressive :)

Haha, Ryan says it's a lot more sophisticated, yet the level they're playing (Dead Space) is actually a community level from LBP 1. Regardless, the game seems awesome from what I played.

Seems like that Dead Space level was around forever.

MGS2 boss survival music at 27 minutes

One of the few redeeming games on the PS3, wish they did a PC version but they're doing a good job with this series. Amazing work on some of the user levels seen so far & it's crazy on the insane amounts of things offered to create user levels.

so is this the inception of videogames? game within a game?

oh man there are some incredible levels in there...

Looks great but I don't see the point in buying it because I'm not into creating levels. I'll probably rent it.
