Yes because during the quick look, his most important objective is to play amazing. /sarcasm  I don't know if you had the audio down the entire time, but quick looks are supposed to give us an idea of how the game is. You play a video game, where you have to talk the entire time, answering questions, try to make it interesting, and see if you can focus on that tiny line on the bottom of the screen that tells you where to go.   People that are complaining about Brad's lack of "skill" in playing video games are pretty sad, and besides, he did just fine.   Also, to those who are saying the mission choice was bad, he is showing off the game. He gave us a fair representation of what we can expect if we played this game. He showed us driving, he showed us the cigarette mini game, and he showed us the shooting mechanics. I don't know what else you want, their goal in this quick look is not to sell you on this game, it's to show you what you can expect if you pick it up.  Stop your fucking whining. "

The barrels don't explode when you shoot them? I thought this was a video game.

This QL got a hell of a lot more interesting after he stopped complaining about how this non-open world game wasn't open world enough.

Kinda bummed you showed this off on consoles. This game is definitely a PC game. It handles pretty poorly on the consoles, and the visuals on the PC are excellent. 
 
Seems like Brad's crosshair was jumping around a lot. I know Brad isn't the best, but was he exhausted, or does that game handle even worse than I had heard on consoles? I know brad is capable of doing better than that. Maybe he's just been playing to much SC2. Also I was disappointed at him badmouthing the shotgun. It has pretty limited range, but if you hit someone, it feels like a monster and it usually takes a guy straight down. I felt like the kick on it and the chances of one shot kills with it made it feel real powerful. If Brad struggled this much with the shooting throughout his review period, I hope that didn't bring down the score.

Also, holy mother of God the console version of Mafia II looks bad, it doesn't even look as good as Mafia II does on PC at lowest possible settings.
 
BRAD LIVED!

Brad says a lot of dumb shit in this QL. He says that the game is basically following a red line.. isn't that true of GTA4 and RDR also? He also talked about how passengers in your car will comment on your driving, like when you're going really fast. GTA4 does exactly the same thing. The shooting was somewhat criticized, but to me it looks pretty damn similar to GTA4 and RDR.
 
I'm not a fanboy for this game or series, haven't even played Mafia II, but some of the doubletalk really irks me sometimes. I don't mean to come down on Brad, I think he's awesome, but this seems to be a pitfall a lot of game journalists fall into -- criticizing a game for something that was praised in an R* title.
 
With that said, though, disappointing. I hate when open world games don't realize their full potential or feel somewhat barren. I guess I'll pick this game up for PC in a year or however long it takes to drop considerably in price.
 
e: Reading these other comments, I hate to see Brad criticized for his "ability to play games." Have you guys ever played a game while talking about it? It's hard as hell. I usually end up walking around in circles doing jackshit until I stop talking. That's definitely a skill that takes time to develop, and I think Brad is good at it. He missed some turns, big deal.

Do you get melee weapons in this game? Like a bat or something?

Brad! It's a quick look! Plus you've already finished the game! Just bite the bullet and show us how it looks when you die!

I love the concept of an open world game, that doesn't stuff repetitive side missions down my throat. I also love the shotgun in this game, it packs a hell of a punch, i like that. 
 
But alas, this is not something i am going to invest my money in, there are better games out there that i need to play.

Hmm, I'm a little doubtful about this getting this game after the reviews I've seen and I didn't rhink the demo was too impressive either...

No kid should play this game period. Violence or nudity. Why not show boobs though you ask? They are real boobs, not cartoon, and they had an age gate on Saboteur I assume? I mean i like boobs too, but well then they'd have to put an age gate on here, and i am on the internet if i wanna see boobs i don't have to hope Giantbomb shows me some....so i am glad they didn't. Plus showing pornography to minors (whether you love the porn or not is moot), is an offense that you can get jail time for, and you have to sign up on the sex offender registry for the rest of your life, is that a good argument for not showing it? "

I'm not seeing where the claims of incompetence are coming in regards to Brad's performance here.

I respect Giant Bomb for showing the Touch Master "erotic" game, and for at least being willing to show the magazine at the end there.
 
OK, they may have cut the video there if we did see the Playboy, but the Touch Master video still happened.
 
It's kind of a shame that to show the human form is considered so immoral.

Brad comments that he's not sure where the complaints about car handling come from. Three minutes later, he goes from that fat truck to a real car and immediately fishtails. I'm not complaining about Brad, I'm complaining about this:
 
The cars in this game handle like bathtubs on wheels, and combined with the fact that front-end collisions will injure or kill you, that sucks all the fun out of driving, which makes it a very bad thing that you apparently have to do an awful lot of it.
 
EDIT: And for the record, in the demo at least, the shotgun was my favourite weapon. I'm starting to wonder if Brad and I are talking about the same game. XD

Aside from the playboys, is there any other reason to explore about? I guess that's my main problem with there being so side missions or anything. They give you this big detailed area to explore, but don't really give you to tools to encourage exploration. Seems like an unfortunate waste.

Some of you are missing the point. The nudity isn't the problem. They've shown a boob or two in the past. The problem is it's exclusive content from Playboy that they probably weren't cleared to show.

Two bucks per carton. If only..
