Quick Look: Pokémon Black

I've played Blue and Gold and nothing since. i kind of want to get back into Pokemon with either Black or White. 

Loved this QL. I normally go nuts when people who don't know everything about Pokemon talk about it, not that they're not allowed to, just I normally find it frustrating. But that wasn't the case this time, t'was really enjoyable.

The only pokemon I care about are the original 150 pokemon, I've tried new pokemon games, but no interest. Red, Blue, Leaf green and Fire red, all I care about.

Lookin' pretty groovy there, Pokemon.  I don't really feel like playing it though.  HG was enough for me until the next installment probably. 
I bet the real serious guys are putting some major time into working on 3v3 strats.

It's Pokémon son. The core game is the reason people keep coming back. They added things like 2 on 2 battles, new types and differences between physical and special attacks which changed up the game significantly and it's still damn fun. "

I'm gonna be straight up, B/W are possibly the best pokemon games in the series.  
 
Rose tinted glasses off, I enjoyed B/W more than R/B.

It's not true. Catching is determined by an algorithm based on a pokemons inherent catch rate (rarer pokemon have a much lower number), the current health of the pokemon, status effects (most provide a 1.5x multiplier, but sleep provides 2x) and a multiplier based on the ball (normal ball is 1x, dusk ball is 4x etc).  I always held down A as a kid as well. There were various methods, none of them true.     "

And you don't just hold up plus B. You've got to time it right! You have to hit that button combo at the top of arc of the Pokemon throw. It totally works that way. A guy told me during recess and he had Articuno AND Zapdos. He didn't even have to use his Master Ball! "

Got some weird interlacing going on here... did you guys try a new deinterlacing filter for the DS?

Man I haven't played any pokemons for maybe six years now but those damn remix tunes bring back too many memories. I might succumb :( I sort of wish they'd put a liittle bit more RPG into Pokemon though. More branching story and shit. But I appreciate that's not really what Pokemon is about.
