Same here and they weren't scared to use color in that game.

Not that this is realistic to begin with, but when time freezes, the water cannot part for you to pass through, making it 'solid'. So yes, if you could stop time you could totally climb water.

In every movie/game when time freezes, stuff freezes as well. I'd argue that that's not time stopping, because time is simply a measurement. It's stopping movement of everything except for yourself. Stopping time simply doesn't make sense.

That's also why we'll never have time machines. It's a concept that doesn't hold water. What's done is done, and the future comes on its own.

Actually, if you want to get technical, messing with time WOULD make water solid. I believe, if I remember middle school science, freezing is just slowing the molecules down, solidifying the liquid. Freezing time would have the same effect.

Wow so you have to PRESS A BUTTON for the contrived puzzle bits to appear? How fresh.

This game looks so mediocre it hurts.

The problem I see is this game uses the same prefab tools for environment maneuvering over and over.  water_spraying_sideways.mesh, water_spraying_down.mesh, tapestry_to_slow_you.mesh, pot1.mesh, barrel1.mesh.  It's like the gargoyles in Batman AA

A better artistic vision would encompass all the same mobility around more interesting level design.  If other 3rd person action/platformers can do it, so can Ubisoft.

Hell, even some custom dynamic lighting and/or shadows would make this look and feel a hell of a lot better.  This game has some real PS2-era lightmaps.  (this is the flatness Ryan talks about)

I wonder if it explains how he became emo in the 2nd game. Ryan is wrong, water frozen in time would be solid.  Anything frozen in time would be solid.  The molecules would cease to move and seem solid to a person outside of the time stoppage effect.

Breaking stuff to get the little globes looks very God of War-ish.

The Prince looks like a retarded child of Orlando Bloom and Ellen Barkin.

It's good they are back in the Sands of Time series, the 2008 game was probably one of the biggest wastes of money in the biz. Hooray for ass jokes (Ubisoft, seriously, hiring Nolan North to do Drake in your game does not guarantee instant profit), bad combat and complete lack of a story (the awful ending and the even worse "conclusion" in the Epilogue DLC where Elika pulls a Cartman)? Yeah, probably not.

Though I gotta say - the concept feels dated and this game doesn't seem to refresh it enough. The Sands of Time, Warrior Within and The Two Thrones are all perfectly playable today, but it really makes more sense to replay those games than pay up 60$ for something I already had thrice, more than 5 years ago.

I always figured the prince having a british accent had to do with him being nobility.

Anyways, this looks just like what I wanted, gameplay wise, I'll look forward to playing it.

I understand what Prince of Persia is supposed to be and how it is supposed to play, but the whole water-spouts-from-nothing-to-nowhere-for-nothing and repeating the same looking rooms over and over  screams lazy game design.  Makes me sad.

I was a little worried about the game but this QL seems to change that.  It looks like classic PoP which I've been wanting.  Too bad Red Dead and Alan Wake are coming out.

Honestly I think you could make water solid by messing with time. Freeze time all together and water wouldn't be able to move out of your way so it would basically be solid.

I really hope the puzzles and traversal become a bit more complex. The puzzles in this quick look seem pretty simple, mindless, and boring.

I've always suspended my disbelief about the superhuman acrobatics the prince pulls off, but something about being able to run up walls after having already jumped to them doesn't sit with me. Like when he ran up that waterfall, jumped across to the other one and then kept running up? If he could do that, why not just run all the way up to begin with? Why climb on ledges at all if he can just continually run up walls?

I kept thinking that all those gushing fountains would make a perfect setting for some babylonian-style hanging gardens chockful of exotic, colourful vegetation. against the brownness of it all. well maybe that changes later on...

I dont like what Ubisoft has been doing to their games in the last 3 or 4 years. Oh well
I will just continue to stay away from them

They've made four solid PoP titles that are generally thought of as good, fun games.  How is that Ubi not getting it "right"?

This one so far has been reviewed as being a decent - if rushed - addition to the Sands of Time series.  It's clear that it was hindered by a reactionary development to coincide with the film, but it is an enjoyable game that at least managed to steer away from being a movie game.

Just wanted to say that heat is technically the vibration of particles so one could say that the state of water could be decided by time powers.

It looks fun, but the freeze water thing just seems like a dumb gimmick and just a way for them to give you a power other than time.  Also, his face.  Oh god his face.

It seems very "gamey" in a way that I haven't seen much since the PS2-era.  Like they were talking about, the puzzles just don't make sense in the environment.  Maybe it's just me but the fact that this is a game is very apparent, nothing seems well integrated into the environment.

Either way, I definitely want to play this some time, whether it be by renting it or buying it later on when it's cheaper.
