In response to Brad's complaint about the lack of tutorials. If you press A during a loading screen, you skip to the next hint about the controls. Since the loading times are quite long, you can get a good grasp of what is possible by doing so.

I loved the unconventional pacing and deliberate feel of the gunplay in RE5, but this looks like an abomination of the worst elements from that game (i.e. the second half)

Loading screen text isn't exactly a viable method for tutorializing. I'm not saying there has to be a very distinct tutorial mode or tutorial chapter either - it just means the progression of introducing game mechanics is ultimately very poor.

Not being a fan of the Resident Evil series I am enjoying the fans white knighting and the haters hating in everything tangentially related to RE6.

nope. After the infamous October 29th 2010 incident (Fable 3 and Force Unleashed 2) it takes alot to disappoint me I guess, because this is actually pretty fun and dumb in some great ways.

It's not a viable way indeed. I just smirked when he was complaining about it so much and Patrick pointed out rightaway that they are shown in the loading screens, which he missed completely. It's still in no way a solution, but for someone who wants to get the most out of the controls, it's at least useful to know.

In general there is a lack of coherence in the mechanics, which makes it nearly impossible to ever get a good grip on what RE6 wants. Sometimes it wants you to do something manually, other times a quick-time event takes care of stuff. It makes for a pretty shitty pacing, though there are brilliant moments as well.

Oh my gosh, when they said "Neo-Umbrella" I thought they were kidding, that it was just another biotech company. But no, it's actually called Neo-Umbrella. Sheesh.

Finished Jake's campaign, haven't played the others yet. So far the game looks to be terrible in others, but pretty damn cool in others.

On an unrelated note, if the redesign doesn't come with a new video player, fuck this shit.

Resident Evil 2 is still my favourite. Sure, there may be some serious rose-tinting going on, but it was the most Resident Evil IMO.

I get that 4 was just a better game. But it wasn't a better Resident Evil game. Here is what a Resident Evil game is:

Zombies(!!!!) - Eagle Crest - Crescent Moon - Hand Crank - Keycard - Police Station - Raccoon City - Mansion - S.T.A.R.S - Creeky Elevator - Hidden Room - Ruby - Power Generator.. etc, etc.

Ehh I don't need to see this I already know what's is going to be , Brad not liking a mediocre action game , saying he liked the previous one and that this was the wrong direction for the franchise and Jeff taking advantage of it by saying all the games in the franchise were garbage and if you like them you have bad taste.

Jeff doesn't like RE4. That's not surprising, he seems to dislike games that take effort to play.

Got the same question. The footage just looked awful on all levels, not sure if it was just the game or the video player took part in there too.

It's especially weird considering that Jeff and the other guys say the game does look beautiful at times. Because throughout the entire Quicklook I just thought "what a brown and grey mess":

The developers must be aware at how bad this apparently is...so do they care now? Are they laughing their ass off? I'd like to see a hidden camera around their offices just for laughs.
