This is absolutely nothing... nothing, like Yar's Revenge. Might just have well have called it Pitfall! for all the similarities to the original.

They should have just made the HD remix. This game could have been called anything.

This looks kinda neat. The shield made me happy, it's crazy that they did that.

this looks like a really boring / slow version of paner dragoon orta. Considering how long ago panzer dragoon orta came out, there's really no reason for this one to seem so inferior.

I think he meant re-imagining not re-imaging and I LOVE how the new imagining looks.

Even Ryan has trouble asking 18 mins worth of questions about a rail shooter.

I thought it said Yuri's Revenge.

I'm excited.  I will definitely play the trial of it first, but I do like rail shooters and they made one.  Hopefully it will be a little bit faster in later levels though.

Ouch. Yars' Revenge had an great backstory, it's a pity that they seem to be squandering its potential here. This just doesn't seem like the game they should have made for a reboot.

Looks like a slow Rez. The animation seems really choppy and cheap and the shooting doesn't seem to have much oomph... Oh Atari.

make it go faster please?

I dunno, I kinda feel like the shield really is all the "throwback" I need.

Looks kinda fun. I dig rail shooters like starfox, rez, and panzer, so i might check this out.

As someone who's never played Yar's Revenge, I'm surprised by how good this looks. Really digging the Panzer Dragoon vibe.

Looks kinda slow - and hard mode doesn't look like it steps it up too much.

Looks a lot better to me than I initially thought from watching the Art of Yars Revenge video from a few days ago. 
 
I dunno I might pick it up, though I'm not a big on rails shooter fan.

Seriously, am I going crazy, or were they joking about something like this in one of the old Bombcasts?? Possibly related to the discussions of the Asteroids movie...
 
Edit: I have to say, though, it looks good for what it is. I kinda enjoy the strange syntaxes and names in the dialog. The main character never says "I" or "you". She refers to herself as "this-one" when talking to the "Bar Yargler". I don't know why, but I really like that.

i'm suddenly remembering all the weird shitfuck noises the atari game did when my sister played it, that game was crazy, this reboot not so much 
 
i don't know too much about that console generation but i think yar's revenge sold so well is because the originality the game had

Who in their right mind a) proposed a Yar's Revenge revival and b) greenlighted said revival.

I dig Rez, Panzer Dragoon, etc., so I'll probably check this out...I just hope it gets more challenging as the game goes on.
