@Circ: Basically.  

Well a couple of extra cars and a racing suit for your avatar as well.  The physics are slightly tweaked too.  A little easier to control when compared to Revo in my opinion.

The word ARCADE has a lot to do with most of the feel...like comparing Ridge Racer to Gran Turismo or Forza.

Basically, just with way fewer options and better handling. I bought it, and I'm surprised they couldn't figure out that the Championship mode is just an overtake series, hence him coming in ninth place on the second race. It counts them down as you pass throughout the three-part series.

Maybe I am old but every time he hit a wall and acted like it was no big deal, I thought to myself he just lost a tenth off his lap time.


I will be getting this game. It looks like they nailed what its supposed to be 100%. Give me Daytona next Sega.

Revo can be had nowadays for the same price than this game. And it has more content. I rather get that if I'm itching some Sega Rally action. But the fact is I have never liked Sega Rally on home consoles. For example Sega Rally 2 on the Dreamcast is boring but the full arcade cabinet version is amazing. In fact I can go now play Sega Rally 3 in the nearest movie theater. So as long as I can do that I don't need another console version.

What the? European cars are right handed? That's new! Because i think they only are right handed in the United Kingdom last time i checked! We don't have right handed cars, we drive on the left side juuuust like you guys.

Well Sega, having a race where everyone is on a time trial yet able to collide with the cpu players is quite silly. Seems that the game is rather weak on the consoles but it might be better off in an arcade cabinet.

@Troncek: According to Ryan's twitter, this week's TNT is a mix of PSN games, like "Wipeout HD, Uncharted 2, Warhawk, Critter Crunch and more".

BTW, the game is made by the guys at Sumo Digital, so you know it's good.

Sega needs to do a new Initial D Arcade Stage for the PS3.. or hell even the 360.

Sega Rally Revo is a great game and you guys should play it (in fact, you should've bought it when it was new because then Sega wouldn't have closed Sega Racing Studios and we would've gotten the new Daytona from them so thanks guys >:|).  It is a way more content heavy game than this and a lot of fun.  Still, for what it is, SROA is pretty alright.

The nostalgia is working for me. I fondly remember old arcade rally games and early Colin McRae Rally games. But with Dirt 3 just around the corner.... yeah.... don't buy this.


As for racing games you can mindlessly play after a hard day's work: Burnout Paradise!

Terrain deformation was this game's big claim to fame when it first released. It may have been the first racing game of this gen to do that.

Haha, Diablohead was on the leaderboards in this video. I know that guy! He gifted me my copy of DiRT 2 for the PC for Christmas last year.

 Oh Ryan Davis and his magical ability to totally miss the point of a 10 dollar arcade game vs a full 60 dollar retail  product. Hey maybe next they could compare Outrun to Shift 2. Impressive.

 The fact that some people will take what he says in this QL as gospel and not check out this game , is what really saddens me.

I loved the classic Sega Rally game on the Saturn.

This is nothing like it.  Wouldn't recommend it at all, especially with Dirt 3 coming.
